Closeup of (N)Oliveroci's Ella (I think!)Edit: I just realized how similar Ella's pose is to Oliver, her dad's pose! Check it out Age wise in the photos, they're only a few weeks apart.

Might that be the case. I've never seen any of my cats do that though.

I did check with a breeder, and she told me cat moms do this to prevent their kittens to wander too far off. Exactly how shorter whiskers affect kittens I don't know though.

i've heard that cats will chew off eachothers whiskers when they're bored. it happens a lot at pet stores. dunno if it's true though!

Hmm, whiskers help guide cats in the dark, as in if they go near between two walls, their whiskers hit the sides and they know how big the entrance is and if they can fit through, generally speaking.
But I'm sure you already knew that.

The kitten is very cute, but I don't think that a normal cat mother chew her children's whiskers off....
maybe some sort of disturbed behaviour...
