Description
I had a very intense photo shoot at this mountain creek just after the sun went down. In my attempts to get my tripod set up along the jagged rocks I fell in up to my waist and smashed the hell out of my shin.. after that I just stood in the creek and got some very close-up 10 second exposures of the many falls there.. thus..a new series of abstract prints entitled 'Smooth on the Rocks'.sometimes a little pain is necessary in the name of photography..

I'm fine now.. and the water was so cold in that stream I didn't feel the pain until my leg thawed

It's the end result that makes the feeling count. And very often people have no idea what lies behind the shot. This is really beautiufl and I'm glad you put up with the pain and took that shot.

Yikes! Beautiful shot and well worth the pain. I tried to get a shot, too, slipped on the wet seaweed on the rocks, and dislocated a few things. Didn't get the shot, either.

I hope you haven't hurt yourself too much, though it worth it a lot! This shot is great! so it was with very little light and a long exposure? I hope to get such a good photo someday...

yes that's right.. very low light.. in the forest after sunset. all my shots were 10-20 second shutters at f6-f8 ISO 64 ... I find they come out very clean at the very low ISO setting ... I lengthen the shutter as opposed to raising the ISO for dim-light outdoor shots.. brings out much better color and picture quality. thanks for your interest and your comment!
