I love this. If only Hawke would hug Carver in the game. Especially just before the final battle. Anything could happen, so just give your brother a bloody hug, Hawke, I didn't spend all that time converting rivalry to friendship so you can have an awkward conversation instead. >.< I think Hawke can hug Bethany.

I just love Carver so much, and I his relationship with Hawke is so well-developed, and this.. Yes, it's so cool that he actually comes back to hawke's side in the end :~~

With everything I've heard, including here, and seeing this pic, I want to now, more than ever do another DAO playthrough so I can import and make a non-evil mage Hawke and have Carver become a Grey Warden.

This. I wanted a 'hug Carver' option sososo bad. He's been a Grey Warden on all my mage Hawkes so far cuz that's what happened to him with my first one, and I LOVED how much he 'grew up'. And when he came swooping to my rescue with that shade at the end... well, all my mages have the instinctive reaction of nearly tackling him in a hug. And his ending convo(at least with him in friendship...) is one of my favorite moments in the game.
Btw, am I just seeing things, or does she have her legs wrapped around his waist?

She absolutely has her legs wrapped around his waist. It's a jump-cling hug, which is the best kind of 'I missed you' hug.

This is beautiful, you captured the moment perfectly - I only wish there was a "hug Carver" option in game, despite him being a tit on many an occassion.

My first play through, I didn't take him on the deep roads expedition and he ended up becoming a templar, I absolutely hated him after that. Now I'm playing another mage and I'm starting to be a little more understanding of him. I think being a Grey Warden is a good thing for him, it gives him the opportunity to become more than just Hawke's little brother.
and he needs cuddles.
