AUT-51 “Shashtsoh” (Brown Bear/Grizzly) Assault APC

Heavily armed, and heavily armored this Assault APC/drop shuttle is used to deliver a squad of marines directly into contested combat zones and provide fire support to the deployed troops on the ground.

Typically they will deploy from a low orbit starship and make a low-velocity entry well outside the enemy's air defenses then make treetop level, more often "in the trees" level attack runs to deploy their troops on the enemies front step.

multiple plasma cannons, missiles, and rapid-fire heavy machineguns allow it to suppress or vaporize enemy resistance while its armored hull soaks up man-portable weapons fire long enough to insert and move off to supporting Positions.

The pilot has no direct view system instead of using high definition radar, lidar, optical, and thermal imaging systems spread around the hull to navigate and avoid obstacles....obstacles it can't smash though at any rate.

twin heavy rotary machineguns guns on both side ramps allow the door gunners to cover the squad and provide suppression fire during troop deployment, then observe, and report high-value targets to the gunner as they orbit overhead.
