I wouldn't mind if not for the fact that the whole Penders lawsuit happened and they had to reboot the comics. So yes, Sonic, a copyright law DID stop you. Temporarily, but still.

Mickey Mouse was going to enter the public domain in the 90's. Which was 50 years after his creation. Basically, the public domain staged that after 50 years, enough for the creator to make a good profit off of it, a work that a creator made could be used by anyone. But Disney bribed congress to extend it to at least 100 years. So they could keep profiting off mickey.
