mm... i think you should use some darker shades on the character's outline, that way, the background will not mess up the character.

I tried to make it as good as Ican, but it was my first picture without using any earlier made lines. Before I had something a bit looking as Toph, I made about twenty paintings. So, when I finished this one, I didn't want to destoy it in a try to make it better;}
