"The BRAIN Initiative (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies, also commonly referred to as the Brain Activity Map Project) is a proposed collaborative research initiative announced by the Obama administration on April 2, 2013, with the goal of mapping the activity of every neuron in the human brain. Based upon the Human Genome Project, the initiative has been projected to cost more than $300 million per year for ten years."

He Made Me SmileHe was like a large teddy bear, all wrapped up in Christmas paper for you. Just when you thought no one cared in the world – there he appeared bounding happy and caring, a gentleman to you.
And he sat there and said such wonderful things - how smart you were and "hey look at this" and you could almost guess what his family makeup was. He had a brother for sure, but no sisters. You could tell by his confidence and his smile that it was internally happy. Just everything about him was happiness and deep caring. And you deeply cared back.
You could get lost in his ways – how he worried about you and cared for you and wanted to be there for yo

I love how rich the concepts are in this, there's so many layers of meaning, which I guess is appropriate considering the subject matter

I love what you've done with the dice. You say so much with those in the image.

WIth the dice - my brain injury is the size of a dice - hence the dice in the image.

Oh okay, so you've said even more than I thought. I was thinking about how maybe the situation was like "a roll of the dice," and then the skull and crossbones representing damage and death. Anyway. This is really good.

Hey - that fits anyway. This was a pure accident for me, it could have happened to anyone so roll of the dice fits. Also thoughts of "games" as well - the whole hospital "game" that one plays. It is annoying. I do this in my other works representing games as cards etc.

Really amazing work! I like it a lot! And good luck with everything - hopefully that 1 billion dollars of brain research money will lead to some new amazing discoveries in neuroscience

I am hoping to. Hopefully the US economy will be able to support this. I think it will have far reaching effects in how we understand our selves, emotions and understanding of the brain and diseases associated with it.

Nice work! Have you met NicBelroque? He has epilepsy and has done some awareness projects about it. Very cool guy! Here's a journal he did nicbelroque.deviantart.com/jou…

This is gorgeous!
I have epilepsy that's controlled with medication well enough that I can even drive, but deaf morons unwilling to hear the controlled with medication part have actually accused me of risking peoples lives. Some of these people have driven drunk! I'm one of the safest, most by-the-book drivers I know and I'm more scared of someone else getting hurt than of getting hurt myself because all the idiot pedestrians and moron drivers out there often have me crawling the walls, but the last thing I have to worry about is epilepsy.

I have heard the same type of stuff. Some of the comments have been ridiculous, including responses from medical professionals. Thanks for your response to my manip.
