Description
Observant viewers will notice the familiar non-retractable"C-Clamp" style pincers and characteristic external target setting dials of the tried and true A Model Seeker.Unlike its brethren, this A Model cannot carry or deploy Reactive Tape Dispensers, as its usually ubiquitous RTD module has been replaced by an experimental Cupid Effect Ray Emiter* mount.
Theoretically, a Seeker armed with a C.E.R.E. or (C.E.R.E. Seeker
Under ideal conditions, the CS need only hand it's affected target a role of conventional restraint tape, and they will gladly wrap themslves up!
Of course, this is just a test to see if this application is practical. (As well as to see if I can post submissions with my new PC.
In production, C.E.R.E's will probably be mounted on larger vehicles.
* Can you guess which episode of which popular animated series I just you-tubed?
**Those of you griping about how my evil knows no bounds--ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!
Edit- For reasons I hope are obvious, I've decided to christen this particular Seeker configuration "Doctor Manhattan."

HAHAHAHA, I love the design of the cupid ray gun, very fitting. And I see the bots are trying to find newer and more unique ways to capture the lovely ladies

"They're offering me free ribbon and tape? And a maid uniform? That sounds nice."
This is another interesting device that really blurs the line between "recruiting" and recruiting. Those poor souls who cast off affection and thoughts of submission are only biding their time; the C.E.R.E. Seeker obviously has their best interests in mind, and those best interests start with 'admitting the love of machines and desire for eternal servitude.'
Hmm. With a model-name and theme like this, I was expecting somethimg more like the Recruiter's hooks and carrying latches (on its back?) - something more like quiver full of duratape and restraints.

Not a fan of disney's stuff as I had to look through the comments to see what show you meant.
Speaking, makes me wonder how you haven't done nothing based of Totally Spies. That series surely must hold some Guinnes record for most fetishes shown in a kid show per episode.

I definately will. Actually, I wonder how they HAVEN'T actually ended up in a mission where they were told to go to French Maid Planet so they can help fix some robots who've gone haywire and have started sending hordes of French Maids to leave regular House Maids unemployed.
Surely they'd be send to fix that so the French Maids return back to their "home planet", the house maids can retain their job, and the W.H.O.O.P. agents get a free "paid vacation" and "special training" as a thanks from the FMP for helping them out in this distress.
(Actually, let me hold onto the patent of this idea in case the series resurrects and they need new material for an episode... I'll call you so you take care of artistic direction).

i've just got the mental image of it being used on any of the typical "love is a weakness, i cast it out and do not feel it" stereotype villainesses, with the effect of making them hug fluffy-wuffy kittens and sniff flowers and skip and sing on their way to its clutches.
also: apologies for crudity, but is it meant to look like a gigantic upside-down plasma-wang? no objections to such a shape, but one cannot but wonder if it is from intent or phallusey.
π: 0 β©: 1
we-r-nomad In reply to kite-san [2009-01-07 05:09:37 +0000 UTC]
Not with intent.
The mounting of the cannon is based more or less on the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter's 30mm gun mount. but considering this weapons intent, I can see where such an interpretation can be made.
Heh. It's been said the Ah-64 looks like it wants to kill you. Perhaps that's not what it wants afterall.
π: 0 β©: 1
kite-san In reply to we-r-nomad [2009-01-07 11:06:28 +0000 UTC]
yes, but the apache is proportionally much much larger than the gunmount, drastically reducing the wangosity.

Thus the need to mount it on a larger Seeker. I figure I could swap out the centerline Damsel Drum and put a C.E.R.E. on a Dive Bombing Seeker. [link]
Then it wouldn't have to dive bomb at all. Girls would smply climb into the drums on their own.
π: 0 β©: 1
kite-san In reply to we-r-nomad [2009-01-07 20:22:56 +0000 UTC]
true, which makes mounting it on a Dive Bombing Seeker patently at odds with its design profile, when one could also use a C.E.R.E. on the carrier for the Tank Type Seeker, and instead of bringing the tank, just bring a massive edifice of damsel drums.
the mental image of half a city's population clambering over each other in a writhing mass of humanity trying to beat each other in the race to climb up and into a steadily dwindling supply of drums is admittedly a pleasant one, in a certain fashion.
this would, of course, require some sort of Area Logistics variant on the C.E.R.E. system, as firing on people one-by-one, while deeply satisfying, poses the risk that some nefarious interloper might, with such a time window in which to observe and study the effects, develop a countermeasure.

we-r-nomad In reply to kite-san [2009-01-08 04:30:53 +0000 UTC]
You've convinced me.
Rather than jury-rigging the C.E.R.E. to a preexisting Seeker, it would be better to design a platform purpose built to deploy the gun, a perhaps even cope with the unique situation its activation creates.
While a Tank Type has certain merits, you pointed out a need for something that can exfiltrate quickly before being observed by the enemy or mobbed by collateral impactees.
Much to consider.

You're kidding right?
This was built with you in mind!
With all the powered armor and Keebler Elf Magic* you keep cobbling up, you're as hard to catch as you are to keep. I need some kind of edge.
All's far in love and war. 'Specially when one can combine the two.
*Mental note: Elven Powered Armor.

Ishy-222 In reply to we-r-nomad [2009-01-06 23:56:41 +0000 UTC]
Then I think you would need two of those.. One. the cupid ray to hit and get the information of who she would do anything for... and a second to be the holographic image of said person who then can offer up the roll of tape for the self bonding capture.
Power armor is good yes, and for elf magic, I think it is Alien space Elf resistance. The will to be free and not be contained that keeps staying hard to catch and hard to keep.
But you may be onto something with the 'love' and war part...

No, you see, the ray is so powerful, the target falls in love with the Seeker.
It's sort of the whole function of the ray to get a girl to go "ga-ga" over someone she found previously undesirable.
That's why Wadeinvented it in the KP episode, to turn the head of Monique [link] (Someone I definately need to not maidify in the near future!) who showed less than no interest in the pre-pubescant genius.
When hit by the ray, the girl will fall for whomever or what ever she is looking at, at the moment of impact. (You know, like Cupid's arrow.) Since it is more than likely, she will be staring at this Ben 10 looking thing, floating in mid ar in "Exactly the way that bricks don't," that's what will become the object of her fierce devotion for the next 69 minutes.
Admittedly, the inherent flaw in the design is if said female is happens to be in line of sight with ,say, an ice cream truck when she's hit, she'll moon around muttering to herself, "Susan M.Good Humour, Susan M.Good Humour..." for the next hour and nine minutes.
She'd still be easy enough to capture, but not quite as much fun.

The Ben 10 lookin' top half, with the tentacles, is actually an old design. [link] (And I'm more than a little surprised it's taken folks this long to see what inspired it.) Thus the "Military Channel" style talk about the "tried and trueClass A."
The bottom half is the new modification. Can you guess where it's from?

Ben 10 was a heavy influence on the Class A Seeker's design. I love Glen Murakami's badass "Anime Meets Jack Kirby" designs. But as I pointed out, The Class A been around for quite some time.[link]
The C.E.R.E. gun is the new addition that was inspired by recent youtubage. It was inspired by something else entirely. [link]

Is there anything stopping the C.E.R.E's target from being instructed to use the proffered tape on another target? This model may be ideal for use on heroine / sidekick pairs (the ones where the sidekick always seems able to evade capture and then release the heroine).
