Description
Percy Weasley, a very wee pressie for the lovely , whose art and characters I absolutely love. Percy needs more positive attention, damnit!Reference, Roger (101 Dalmations). He's always struck me as the perfect Percy and Arthur Weasley look-a-like, so I nicked some of his, er, major facial characteristics XD

Gosh, such an underrated character. If I wasn't eye deep in Doctor Who right now, I'd maybe promote some Percy love. If there's a Weasley I'm in love with (aside from Fred and George, of course), it's Percy. I'm also a big Charlie fan. From what I've observed, he gets the LEAST amount of attention. At least with Percy you get a plethora of Percy/Oliver fics, and a few Percy/Penelope fics.

Aww Percy my favourite little sourpuss...his expression draws me in... it reveals his anxiety, insecurity, stubbornness, sadness, defiance and so much more of the gohst's that hunt poor Percy's mind
...well, whatever I'm trying to say... the pic describes him wonderfully!

Eeek, thank you so much!! He is such a stuff-shirted old sourpuss, haha. Got to love him. I know half the fandom despise him, but I just think he's such an interesting character. I really wish we could have seen more of him in the books. I felt like his re-introduction at the Battle of Hogwarts was a bit tacked on, you know? :/

Oh how I agree with you, as usual...I certainly believe she finished off DH too early, if for the enorme pressure the world was putting on her or not, the whole story somewhat doesn't appear round to me, there are too many strings left dangling in midair...and Percy's story is one which I had been longing to read more about...Well, maybe we can put our hopes on Pottermore to reveal some of his secrets...otherwise I'll just wait for you to write it hehe

Hehe, I like this interpretation of Percy a lot. The expression on his face is so perfect! If he weren't a wizard, he'd totes be a fussy engineer (which I imagine would have made Mr. Weasley doubly proud!)

Thank you so much, mate! I drew a lot of inspiration from 101 Dalmation's Roger. I always thought he was a perfect lanky look alike for Percy (and Arthur, too).

Heee, thank you so much for the double huggage
Percy's definitely in my top 4 favourite HP characters, the twins and Luna being the other three. ^^ He's just such a fantastic old stuff-shirt and I love his interaction with the twins. Contrasting characters always crack me up ^^

Yes~! I love Luna and the twins too. Oh and of course Tonks XD She's up in my favs.
And I always thought Umbridge was a better contrast to the twins then Percy was but he's definitely a contrast to them too.
Oh and you're welcome for the hugs I love giving them

Weasley-Detectives In reply to kamica1 [2012-06-11 01:05:44 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah, Umbridge is a brilliant contrast, but in quite a different way. Regardless of who says what, there's always an underlying fondness and deep family attachment between Percy and the twins, so I find the contrast in their personalities actually serves to bring them closer. The contrast between Umbridge and the twins has a completely different function.
You're always welcome to free hugs, mate!!

Your Welcome!!! I like to stoke the fire of egos whenever I can I've hated hearing the whole "He should have died" bit, he seemed very human for what he did in the story.
π: 0 β©: 1
Weasley-Detectives In reply to InTwilight [2012-06-11 04:22:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I think he was actually one of the most human characters, in that he was so flawed. I definitely wasn't happy with his reappearance in Deathly Hallows, though. It felt too rushed and convenient, him just popping up right before the battle.

InTwilight In reply to Weasley-Detectives [2012-06-11 13:34:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but sometimes that's how it has to happen. Though perhaps them realizing that he'd been fighting along side them afterwards might have been a bit climatic, I think he specifically needed reconciliation with Fred. Hence the awkward pop-in at the room of requirement.

Weasley-Detectives In reply to InTwilight [2012-06-11 22:40:21 +0000 UTC]
Nah, I still think that was a weak part of the book - we had to see Percy again of course and have some sort of make up with the twins (or as you said, Fred specifically, because he's the twin Percy clashes with most), and that was really the only place he could turn up again, but I still don't think it was good writing on JK's part. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of DH on the whole. There are parts of it I really love (like Godric's Hollow and Bathilda Bagshot - fantastic!), but overall it's my least favourite book. But I've ranted about that too often hahaha XD

InTwilight In reply to Weasley-Detectives [2012-06-11 23:35:30 +0000 UTC]
That was the weak part? I do recall skimming a good portion of the center lol I think my favorite book was either 3 or 5 (and my friends keep telling me that I must have only liked 5 because of the twins, which I won't deny). 6 was a little annoying, just because I was tired of hearing "OMG Draco's up to something!!!!" erm... I mean reading... lol But, yes, you're right, it felt more like she was rushing to get everything settled.
unfortunately with an "epic battle" on our hands, there's not too many choices of time...Speaking of DH though, was that Oliver on the broom in the movie or was it Percy?
π: 0 β©: 1
Weasley-Detectives In reply to InTwilight [2012-06-11 23:45:43 +0000 UTC]
LOL! Okay, most of it was weak But man, the battle was horribly, horribly predictable. I think *The-Starhorse and ~Leaviel are brilliant when it comes to ranting about DH. I totally agree - loved 3 and 5 (and 4 too), probably couldn't pick between those three. ^^ I found 6 a bit annoying too. Again, parts of HBP were amazing, but other parts were just a bit...cheesy, predictable and unnecessary.
I think it was supposed to be Oliver - he was definitely credited. Speaking of that bloke, my mate used to take him. Lucky bastard Β¬_Β¬

InTwilight In reply to Weasley-Detectives [2012-06-12 01:48:06 +0000 UTC]
The only unfortunate part with our particular belief in what's cheesy or predictable or unnecessary is entirely different from the wide spread populous. I've taken numerous writing courses so to an extent I really shouldn't bait people into debates on literature
BUT I find myself in very good company when the two of us are picking to the root of things
Its probably the one thing I miss most about no longer being in school. Anyway, getting back from rant, where they're predictable---don't all of us do things that are predictable? Though the sudden "slap upside the head" type realization that Harry loves Ginny and then pulling a "Peter Parker" (as my friends and I dubbed it) was rather ridiculous. But then, I hated book six because I was sitting there half the time going "You couldn't have even HINTED at this stuff earlier?!?!"
I think it was him too--and I saw him credited! but what a miniature cameo!! *stares for several seconds* You've got connections everywhere, don't you?

Agh, EXACTLY! Let me hold you
I never want to say that because I'm scared of sounding snooty as hell, but I really do find a big difference in talking about a series like HP with someone who knows/has studied literature and someone who's just a regular fan (and doesn't take analysis to ridiculous, probably unhealthy levels
hey, everyone needs a hobby! XDD).
I actually think there's a big difference between writing something that's unoriginal and writing something that's predictable to the point of being clichΓ©d. HP's storyline is not original, following a pretty basic hero quest narrative, but I don't think there's actually anything wrong with being unoriginal. You can have an unoriginal plot, but still do fantastic things with it, just like JK has. But clichΓ©, to me, is more along the lines of cringe-worthy writing, taking on particular tropes and so on. If that makes sense. Got to stop ranting at 3am XD
lol The UK's just a small place And anyway, it's done me bugger all good - I've never met him myself. And he comes from bleedin' Glasgow! I thought I knew everyone in Glasgow *grumble grumble*

I'm in an area where snobbery is common, so I tend to be a book snob. lol Random, I know, but
oh well! I like to study it all just to see what other ideas are out there, and yes, some fans take it WAY too far! Granted, I'm one of those people who goes and finds research on everything (whether I like it or not) just so I can knock them down when they try to fight me on it. Like a certain torture codex involving sparkly undead people... *cringe*
This is true, there are lots of comparisons of HP to things like Star Wars I actually find it a little difficult to be original to the sense of veering from the Hero Quest without losing your point, especially in fiction and even more so in today's fiction. You mean bring in the Mary-Sue guns?
Yeah, why are you awake at 3 am? Go to bed, you! lol
This is true! It's kinda like where I am everybody knows each other... its kinda creepy. I worked in Disney for a semester during college and kept bumping into people who were from my area. And yeah, since you spend plenty of time in said city I'm astonished you haven't met him yet! Granted, if you're like me, you may have met him and just not realized it!
Actually, no, I've done something worse. I recognized Zac Hanson (then his brothers who were standing behind him) after nearly tripping over his son. So yeah, I can pick them out... but that's about it lol

Haha, yeah I modelled him on Roger from Disney's 101 Dalmations. He's always struck me as the perfect look-alike for Percy and Arthur Weasley. ^^
