UGLY LADYBUGS ARE COMING IN!!!I don't know how anybody can say that this 7-spottet 6-legger is cute and awww while the same people say that spiders are ugly and scaring the crap out of them.

Yeah, anything can be really scary up close. Even humans. Was kinda scary for Gulliver. Maybe you should photograph some gigantic humans and see what your viewers think of that. 
As for ladybugs verses spiders, I'm fond of both. It's just that ladybugs generally don't bite and aren't poisonous, whereas you have to be careful what spiders one adopts. But I do favor the more beneficial insects, for obvious reasons, even though I know most insects serve a useful purpose of some kind, even if only as food for other insects and creatures.
I admit, this particular ladybug closeup looks like a well-armed and impenetrable tank ready to flatten you under its immense weight before devouring you like a puddle of jam.

whoa whoa, I thought it was dead to answer your question, but since i had no way of knowing i had to ask. It looks like it is missing a leg and there is the gunshot wound to it's head that had me concerned. I am not down with bug homicide. If i accidentally swallow a fly riding my bike or driving in a convertible, i quickly turn inside out so that the fly may fly away which is fly.
did i mention this is a great shot and the colors are very crisp like the ladybug is made of confection
