Description Why won't you come over here?
We've got a city to love

I'm suuper duper excited that Julian came out of hibernation and has been playing a ton of shows.
So that's what I've been up to for the past two months. Crying over this 35 year old man.
And forgetting how to draw...

OH! On a side note, if you're in NYC June 6-8 for The Governors Ball, LET ME KNOW! I'm going for the entire weekend to see Jules and The Strokes.

I adore this!! (I didn't get to go to the governor's ball but I did get to see the strokes in NY at the capitol theatre and am seeing the Voidz in a month or so. How was the show at the governor's ball btw?)

WHAAAAT!!! WHATWHATWHAT! You were at the Capitol Theatre show?? You're so lucky! I really wanted to go to that (I even waited to pre-order the tickets,) but the scalpers got them like a second after they became available. I'm so jealous! A lot of fans got to meet them afterwards. And I like more intimate shows better than festivals. FYF looked amazing too!
GovBall was actually SUUUPER fun! Fans lined up like 7 hours before they came on. Which takes some serious dedication. And a ton of water. Despite the fact that I almost died of dehydration and being squished, it was honestly one of the highlights of my summer. If they get the Strokes to play again next summer, you should definitely go!
Oh! I'm seeing them too! I got tickets for the show in Philly. And hopefully at the Hammerstein ballroom in NYC. (I'm actually not sure if I got a ticket for that yet.) Which show are you going to?

yeah, it was really amazing!!! but yes the ticket thing was completely insane. I waited to get them and then they were "sold out" instantly...had to keep refreshing for hours until finally I was able to get one ticket, but I wanted my friend to go so we had to get hers from the scalpers, which was obviously way more expensive. The show was great though, so it was worth it. I wanted to stay afterwards but I was made to believe that they wouldn't be coming to meet fans so we decided to go, and then I saw tumblr posts about how many fans met them and now I regret not staying!! I'm determined to meet at least Jules after the voidz show.
And ahh, how close were you to the front at FYF?? Wow, 7 hours! That's true love haha

I'M SEEING THEM IN PHILLY TOO!!! That's crazy! we'll both be there.

Wow! AHHH! I should've done that! I just gave up after refreshing a few times. I'm glad you got to go though! I kept refreshing Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr for updates. Like what songs they were playing. And the clips of them playing. I was so excited.
Yeah my mindset was that I already bought a 3 day pass for Govball which cost me $250. And I couldn't spend another $130 on a scalper ticket from StubHub. I mean, if I was already seeing them at Govball, I shouldn't stress about going to their warm up show. Plus I had no one to go with (because my other friend was going to Govball too, and she didn't have any money.)
Hahah! Aww, it's okay! I'm sure we'll meet him! I went to Albert's show in Brooklyn (when he played with the Drowners.) The person I went with had to go home so I was left all by myself. (But thankfully I made friends with someone at the show, and we waited together.) Truth be told , Idon't know why I didn't just go home. But people were waiting, so I waited with them. And thankfully I did. Because Albert came out, and so did Ryan Gentles (the Strokes' manager.) And then Albert's wife. And even FAB!! I got a picture with Albert and Fab, but  Ididn't wanna bother Justyna or Ryan. BUT UGGHH IT WAS WORTH WAITING!

I didn't go to FYF sadly. Haha it's across the country, and I don't have money to buy a plane ticket But from the pictures, it looked absolutely wonderful! People sang to Julian because he performed on his birthday. And he played "I'll Try Anything Once" which is one of my favorite songs!
For Govball, though, I was about 7 rows back from the front. And I got there five hours before they came on. Festivals are brutal, man. How close were you for the Capitol Theatre show?

OMG NO WAY!! AAHHH!! YAY!! I'm stoked! I'm also kinda nervous because this is my first time going to Philly alone. ((Praying that I make friends in college who like the Strokes as much as I do, and then I'll have someone to go with loll.)) Do you live in NY, by the way?

Yeah, makes sense, the whole stubhub fiasco honestly made my blood boil. That had never happened to me before, so I wasn't aware of the whole scalpers thing. They went from $30 to like $150 (at the cheapest)!

Ahhh, so you've met albert and fab and ryan, that is so cool!!! Were they nice? And aww, have you posted the picture yet?

If I had the money, I'd be flying to every show hahah. ahhh, yess i saw the video of the audience singing to him, that was so sweet. and I adore I'll Try anything once too. It's such a beautiful song.
That's awesome that you were that close though; at the capitol theatre i was wayyyyy in the back, all the way in the "loge". Those were the only tickets available though. I'm dying to be close to the front for the voidz now!

Hope I see you there!! and I'm glad that I made my friend listen to the strokes a few years ago because now I just make her come with me all the time to these things. If you don't find people in college who also love the strokes, you can always make them love them! And nah, I live in PA. It's close enough though that I usually get to go to the shows in ny that I want to see. Do you live in ny?

Scalpers suck lol. I'm pretty sure what they're doing is illegal, but no one has addressed the issue. Which stinks.

I didn't get a chance to talk to Ryan. I just let him be when he exited the venue. To be honest, I was exhausted after the concert, and I really wanted to go home, so I didn't really get a chance to talk to both of them thoroughly. I just asked if I could have a picture with them and they said yes haha. And yes, but I only uploaded the one with Fab (because I looked absolutely awful with Albert.)
I was there when they were taking the equipment out of the venue, and I saw a Strokes sticker on one of the cases (among other ones.) It just made me really happy/ sad.

Yeah, same! But for now, I'm happy just looking at the pictures that fans took of them. I hope one day I get to go to an intimate show for The Strokes. Once they start touring again (IF they tour again.)
Ohh! But to be honest, I feel like if you're closer to the back, you have a better view of them. And your eardrums won't be assaulted that badly.
I think I'll get in line for Julian's show like an hour early. Who knows when people'll start lining up at the venue.

I hope to see you too! Do you have a tumblr by the way? I wanna keep in touch so we can meet at the show in Philly!
HAHAHA! That was a good idea! I tried introducing one of my friends to the Strokes, but they didn't have the same effect on her as they did on me. But it's cool. I like meeting new people at concerts. I actually met someone on Tumblr when Govball came around. She didn't have anyone to go with, and neither did I. So we met up and just went together. And we've been following this other band around because they're close to us lol.
That's true about making people like them! In my English class, when we were doing introductions, I mentioned that I liked them. So hopefully I'll meet someone who knows of them (at least a little bit.)
OMG! That's awesome! Yeah, it's pretty close to NY! I actually went to PA a few weeks ago (we went to Hershey Park.) My parents were so surprised when we went to a restaurant that the bill was so cheap. ((Because I think the tax in PA is lower than the one in New York.)) Which answers your question lol. I live in Queens, New York.

It's ridiculously unfair, haha I was all excited that the tickets were only 30 and then that excitement vanished pretty quickly. I heard other people complaining about it at the show too. Something needs to be done about scalpers, for real!

How long was the show? And aww, the strokes sticker...

Ohhh, I'm really confident that they'll be touring again soon. I can feel a new record being made. Well actually I just remember them tweeting something about some new stuff coming soon. I definitely think they're getting along again (I think they're a lot closer than they were when they made angles...).
I'm going to try to get there pretty early as well, but I have /no/ idea how early since I can't predict how packed the show's gonna be and how dedicated the fans are hahah.

Yeah, I was gonna ask you about your tumblr too but I just saw it on your profile! I'll follow you there as well (and your strokes blog, which is really cool by the way). Mine is hologramic.tumblr.com. I definitely wanna meet you there too!
Ahh, yeah it's always strange to me when music that has affected me so deeply doesn't have as much of an impact on other people. But that's so nice that you met another fan! Which band have you guys been following?

Man, I live so close to hershey park! That's crazy! How do you like queens??
