But the Empress saw darkness in his heart and refused.

He was outraged. He was so consumed by his hatred and jealously for his sister that he sold his soul to have her destroyed. This great dark power is what transformed him into the Devilwocky. In his new form, he carried out the first part of his revenge. Each time the sun went down, he would go into the night, stealing and eating the souls of the children of Imaginashia. The Devilwocky was filled with pride, but Moonshine saw only horror. Heartbroken by her brother's betrayal and the cry of her people, The Empress gathered an army of royal Imaginashans to attack and defeat the Devilwocky once and for all. The fought against the Devilwocky's army of dark creatures and monsters. This is what kicked off the war of darkness and light. Unicorns fighting goblins. Giants fighting ogres. Good vs. Evil. There were many battles until finally, the Devilwocky was captured and his army was defeated.

Despite many calls for his death, the Devilwocky was only banished and it was decided that he would be turned to stone to ensure he wouldn't hurt anyone again. Before he was turned to stone, he vowed that he would get his power back and destroy everything she loved.

He returned and was defeated.
