Yes it IS a Barbaracle. A Barbaracle OC and some Barbaracle spam I plan to do.
I mark it's an OC, because as you noticed, he got extra stripes on "limbs". DETAILZ...who cares about them?

INTERNET, I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY SAME AS YOU AIN'T GOT TIME FOR WHAT I HAVE TO SAY.

Because I planned to sketch/speedpaint Weirda Mirrart with my Barbaracle OC at the seaside of Lilycove City,
I decided to spam my opinion about this Pokemon here, to not swell too much my wall of text I'll most likely create.
Not to mention...Binacle needs a lot of time to reach lv 39, so...really, I can't wait when Frank will evolve into epic Barbaracle.

This trainer is indeed Wei, I plan to change her hairstyle in future storyline.
AND YES SHE WILL GET THAT PRECIOUS BINACLE WHEN BEING IN KALOS.

what have you thought, she came there for observing the biggest bio-diversity in all regions?
For Quilladin, one of few grass type mammals that's a prehistoric glyptodon?
For studying closely fairy types which are new to pokemon science?
For seeing Xerneas fossil and mesmerazing look of an Aurorus?
To get an Avalugg on which back she will be riding then?
YES, BUT TO NAIL 'EM ALL REASONS, SHE'LL GET A BINACLE.

Once was an ugly Barbaracle. It was so ugly that everyone fainted.
Weirda used Max revives and Kalos ultimate weapon to revie everyone who never hated it before
AND EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVEN AFTER.

Binacle and its evolution are ugly, but it's all bad you can say about them.

You don't have to love 'em all, but at last don't be jerk an blind.

One of my first-sight-favourite Pokemon like Honedge being a sword possesed by a spirit, like Delphox being smart european fox
which is connected to magican foxes from the east, being a witch which wand is not like Kadabra's spoon, but it's a stick or branch.
Or just avalugg and aurorus, you can't deny their coolness of ice type.

Also...if you consider it's ugly and is weak to grass type so much... you'll get why beauty of flower simply BEATS IT.

No really, I have some cool thrivia about Binacle and Barbaracle there inspired by real life and I as perfectionist needed a reference drawing
for Frank while I don't have clear idea about this OC yet, because he will need time to develop. It's my headcanon in my Poke-universe each Pokemon
has their "basic intelligence" they develop while living with human and their Pokemon. Mammals for example learn quickly from the start,
while bugs and fishes are often seen as not worth the effort and patience.

PS: Why Frankenstein?
Ugh, because I love green and shiny is part of green...but Franstein's monster was an UGLY, hideous experiment
which almost always is portaited with stitches in popular culture, like being sewn from many fragments...can you get my way of thinking here? I hope you do.
Furthermore, Frankenstein's monster was very sensitive and emotional...if you consider Binacle as not being a predator which hunts, acting more instictely
than being very smart from the start AND the fact barnacles are truthfully VERY sensitive in touch with their "hair"(called cirri)...YOU GOT MY IDEA FOR FRANKIE.
I don't say he WILL BE very sensitive and emotional, but you got my point.

Also, I've found the word "frank" can be associated with "frankly" and primitive(from the start) Pokemon would be such straight-going in my opinion.

Realistic redesign thrivia:
The main base and reference is of course the goose barnacle. Maybe you would prefer its additional eyes to be fake like those spots on butterfly wings,
but this is said to be seven Binacle and I believe they are multiple living organism in one, but it's limbs are not as smart as the main head.

It's interesting that Barbaracle doesn't has eyes on its legs! Yes, I've looked at the in-game Pokedex.

with and with my internet troubles atm I was lazy to look up.

Anomalocaris, 5-eyed Opabinia, Wiwaxia, HALLUCIGENIA...and many more creatures that haven't left ANY descedants later.

Barbaracle fits such "scenario" in the Pokemon World. DEAL WITH IT, IT'S JUST MY OPINION.
Btw I consider it to be close cousin to extinct Cradily. Look at it and think for a second, I think IT MAKES SENSE.

PS: You know why I personally enjoy so much Weirda getting walking fossil which in natural habitat lives on beach or seaside?

When I was little girl, I maybe collected shells from the beach, but only as every kid did and I just thrown them to thrash later
as mainly they were too fragile...but my TRUE TREASURE hunt was what I have till today: FOSSILS.
Maybe none of them are even amonites, shark fangs or dinosaur bones...but there were ALWAYS mysterious spine-like fragments
which were tempting me FOR YEARS.
Now I know...they're fragments of crinoid's stalk. Which is why Frank has such a "belt". (okay I might will change a sketch a little bit, i wonder...)

KALOS, a place that I would truly visit to dig in. YES.
Frank is like a little found treasure from vacation. TOTALLY WORTH IT.
