I've got the Sonic version for the PS3 (therefore, no exclusive characters), and while it's fun, often hilarious, let's just say I'm glad you can turn off the commentator's voice.
Crash? I've only tried demos, and they were fun, too.
But Mario? CLASSIC. I've played the N64 version as well.

CTR by far! I recently got it on my PS3 and my brother and I have been playing it nonstop. I like Mario Kart Wii as well (I always pick Luigi.) and it's pretty fun, though no match for CTR. Sonic has nothing on Crash and Mario. In fact, Sega has nothing on Sony and Nintendo in the first place. Anyway, I'm rambling, CTR>Mario Kart>Sondick, just like Crash>Mario>Sondick.
