I thought Drop Bears came from a Bundaberg Rum ad, and I thought when you see kangaroos box is usually when it's two males fighting each other.

I actually don't know the actual origin of the dropbear story, but I think it was folklore before Bundaberg rum used the idea.

and yea, Kangaroos do box each other during mating seasons for the chance to mate. But at one point, they were captured and forced to box against humans (who, I might add, wore gloves covered with barbed wire) brutal and barbaric stuff :I
