Whoo. Took forever to fill this in- anyway, this is a meme I've been meaning to get to for a good long while. This would be a long-established vice of mine, being applied to a new favorite pairing. I love Avatar, Jet and Zuko just fine without mpreg- but as a side-trip, I very much enjoy it.These two are so not the couple to be brought together by a baby. And yet- and yet, I wonder...

That panel five always makes me scream for a fanfic. ^^ It's just so hilarious. And Jet's reaction to the fact he has impregnated a fire-nation dude makes my face muscles hurt too. You have a real gift with the expressions and that's what makes your drawings and scetches so wonderful to watch.

Ah. I like treating the terms as seperate from gender and simply go by function.

*nod* There are a lot of different levels to be encompassed by each term- me, I tend to use terms like mommy and daddy for the more emotional roles- and Zuko is so a daddy, or he will be once he gets beyond a certain level of his own screwed-up-ness. When I'm being technical, at least to my self, I tend to put the physical roles as sire and bearer.

I'm not fond of the idea that certain emotion sets are exclusive to the mother yet not the father and vice versa. For me, I think either parent can serve whatever emotional role, which is why I use strictly physical function to label "mother" and "father". I also like the gender-bending of the terms and looking at what really is mother without having to be female, father without having to be male.

*nod* I think perhaps I misspoke when I said that Zuko is so a daddy. I didn't mean to imply that there is a difference between being a mother and being a father beyond the obvious physical- both are nurturing and protective. I simply like to play with the idea of both being permissible in either a masculine or a feminine identity- I like that Zuko has a masculine identity, but that in this instance, I think having to bear, nurture and protect only enhances that without requiring that he be feminized. (not that there's anything wrong with femininity, speaking as one who practices it every day! I just think 'female' can be included in 'male' without necessarily *removing* male, and vice-versa, therefore I like to use 'daddy' for Zuko.)

none taken. Mpreg has an aquired sense of humor. Not just Zuko, any male character that people would want to see pregnant. It's just our thing. By "our" I mean "us mpreg fans".

i like it i think you should do more of it. i think jet and zuko/"li" should be brought together by a baby i can just see it them getting on the wrong foot at first and then they slowly gradually become closer as the months go buy..
