Aw man. We're over twenty pages in and there's still a number of material to cover. On the bright side, I can predict that this chapter will need about twenty more pages until we can finally move on. Believe me when I say that better things will happen as the story progresses. It just takes some time and patience.
Also, that cat is supposed to be Lucky (if you don't remember who he is, go here ). I couldn't replicate his patterns, so we'll just have to go with a loose representation of him instead.

The pacing on this version feels a lot slower; you might consider speeding it up for future chapters. Also, are you going to soft-shade everything from now on?

No. That's just how I shade things at night. About the pace, it does feel pretty sluggish, but I don't want to feel like I'm leaving a few things out.
