Description
Ok, so the story behind this photo...several years ago I took a photo from this same spot. However, it was with an older digital camera, and I wasn't able to make very large print sizes from it. But I always though that I should go back and reshoot it, so eventually I did. But I wasn't intially happy with the results, and I had become less interested in landscape photography anyway, so the photos sat around on my hard drive. Then this past year I had landed a deal to sell some prints to the new hospital they just built in Carson City...they wanted five prints at around 22x28, and one of them they wanted was my original "The Direction". Well, since there was no way I could get the original that big, I dug up this one and processed it. I figured since I went through the effort I may as well share it here. (And who knows...maybe one day I'll go back with my 4x5 and shoot it again....)

This is a very impressive shot! It has just amount of light, the ideal perspective...!
I see why these people from Carson City's new hospital chose it. It'll sure help bring some interior peace to the patients and to the staff.

I like the sublte multitone look that almost makes it look like a pencil drawing. Depth is pretty good and the detail is still quite amazing, considering the dark-ish tone.

Very well done. Excellent composition and color palette. From the thumbnail image I thought this would just be another boring Bryce/Terragen piece, but it's much better with the full view which shows it to be a photograph.
