Description Ok, so here's a new technique I'm trying to perfect: windshield photography.

You know how on a windshield there's a strip where the glass starts to darken as it gets towards the top? Well, that's how I got the sky in this shot to have that curving gradient into black. Pretty interesting effect, I've still got a couple ideas I want to try with it....

Anyways, this shot is just outside of Salt Lake City. I had my camera out and ready as I was approaching the turn (yes, I was driving at the time ) In post-production: rotated and cropped the shot, and then did an adjustment layer on the road to brighten it up slightly and increase the contrast to emphasize its lines. The a bump on the contrast on the whole thing. Oh, and I had to edit out some bug splatters on my windshield

I was so sure I had commented on this before. I remember seeing this before.

Anyway, I love how the road smoothly curves away from the viewer and round towards the edge of the border on the left side, the eye is drawn towards this area and that gorgeous sky.

Great shot.

a definitely good technique tho - absolutely ingenious to use that top part of the windshield to your photographic advantage.

You did a better job than I at taken photo's while driving. I did it through the grapevine while there was fog....I really wish I had pulled over for it. I like the composition as well as the rich blues.

Amazing shot, and I think I’ve used this before, but great balance between the road in the sky. The dark patches above and below and the strip of light in the middle. Looking at it feels natural and I just love the title you used for it. It stands for the simplicity at first sight and a certain depth when you look at it further.

Great concept. I have always wanted to try it, but I can't seem to stay focused on the road. Hell, if I did this, I would end up in the ditch or the back seat of the car in front of me.

Nice work. This is a beautiful pic.

but anyways! onto the subject of the photograph lol

I guess all I can really say is that I just love the concept and how the sky looks. The sun looks really neat behind all those big fluffy clouds too. Beautiful shot! +fav

Such a wonderful composition; I love how you used the left side for the clouds in front of the sun, and give us a vision of the sunrays stretching towards the right 2/3 of it. This is very creative, and, isn't it something what we do for a photo?? I love the sky, it's terrific, and the darkness emphasizes the clouds and light. Beautiful capture!
