It's a Boxmage! She looks dangerous!

Well, maybe not dangerous. Much. A little, maybe.

Okay guys! First time I've drawn Box this year. Thought it'd be nice to revisit her, she seems to be a popular character.

As you can probably tell though, she's changed a little bit lately, having gone from 'demonic sex toy' to 'vaguely magic character'. The Vaguely magic thing quite suits her, actually, I think. Gives her a bit of purpose, and motivation to do various daft things.

But what sort of mage is she?
Good question, I'm not quite sure myself. Perhaps the best way to describe her is as a 'dark' mage. She specialises in dark arcane knowledge, forbidden arcana and various other creepy, lovecraftian type things.
Questing for knowledge constantly, striving to understand the dark spirits and energies that keep one side of the universal balance upheld, Box searches after forbidden texts and artifacts; even going so far as to travel to the nether realms in her search for hidden truths. With her abundance of magical jewellery, and her nefarious staff of tentacles; Box scours the many realms for secrets and lore!

However, despite adventures that lead her into contact with spirits, nether beings, and even daemons; Box abhors violence, but does understand that sometimes, there are some instances where it's the only discourse. Normally, she prefers to confuse and obfuscate, hide and beguile, when threatened. Her magical inventory is full of such obtuse spells for these occasions. Some of the spells she uses most commonly, follow;

'Darklight'
A highly personalised version of the common 'magelight' spell, Box's darklight orbs are easily summoned, and provide not only useful sources of illumination, but, a valuable and easy to summon distraction, too. Appearing as skull sized balls of roiling, coruscating midnight green, haloed with livid, glowing purple, these orbs produce light despite their murky, gloomy appearance. Box can command these orbs to either hover around her, or, launch and guide them, using them to dazzle and confuse less intelligent foes.

'Magic Missile'
Like Magelight, magic missiles are common spells, often learned by novice mages. However, where magelights are benign, non-dangerous creations, magic missiles are boiling, fist sized bolts of pure magic, that can cause quite significant damage when used correctly.
Box's magic missiles are purest magic (eschewing the usual elemental components, i.e, fire or ice). Box seldom uses these spells, except when hopelessly endangered. Flinging the glowing green fists of roaring, shrieking energy from her palms, Box aims to wound or frighten, sending enemies fleeing from the showy display of force.

'Teleportation'
AKA spirit stride. Teleportation is a difficult magical art to master, but highly useful for those who know how to control it. By tearing a small rent in the mortal world's fabric, Box can step through into the otherwordly etherea of the spirit realm; a universe of raw energy that mirrors the material realm. Here, Box can move rapidly through space, free of the restrictions of time (which has little meaning in a realm of pure mana) and arrive back in the material realm, some distance away from where she started, without any time having passed at all. When she enters and leaves the spirit realm, Box manifests in a flamboyant blast of retina-scorching dark purple light, which she uses to stun foes.

'Knowledge sap'
A form of entropic bolt -a dangerous and nefarious spell, banned by most imperial mage schools- Box's knowledge sap is another spell which Box has modified and tailored to her own use. With it, she can glean All kinds of hidden knowledge and lore from the minds of various creatures. In addition, Box can manifest this power whenever she reads a magical tome; drawing directly on the arcane knowledge seething within.
