For bands, try not using your flash, but stage lighting with a high shutter speed. The photos may not come out as clear, but they will be more emotional

Yeah I know but we had problems with the stage lighting and stuff and it was short notice due to unforeseen cicumstances (i.e. two guys sitting on a roof thwoing stuff onto the street. Had no time to set up at all

Ah, been there ([link] , that sucks. Guys on the roof throwing stuff... well that one's I haven't had to deal with but you could always throw stuff back lol
