IΒ΄m pretty much a fan of all your work, but I particularly like this one piece. ItΒ΄s the first female dwarf I've seen in a long while that doesn't look like a boulder with breasts, nor like a twelve-year-old schoolgirl (puajj). In all justice, this one is probably the one with the most merit, since it's a full-body display. The other two (I did say there were few) were either a mug-shot (a character portrait published in dragon magazine issue 278 - december 2000), or upper body (concept art for D&D 4th Ed, kind of dwarven barbarian princess, by Todd Lockwood I believe). And those are both typical D&D: square jaws, long sideburns, somewhat squat builds.
In your defense (which, I may add, I dont think you need), most peolple who complain about dwarf women beign "too graceful", forggett that the lot of female adventurers are depicted as beautiful (or at least hot) and, as a five minute stroll will readyly reveal, that is not the standard for humans. Human female characters tend to represent the heights of physical beauty, why should it be any different for dwarves. Or have you seen many average looking characters in your fantasy books lately?
Any way, your work is great, the anima - anathema concepts look amazing, and in the end we all like beautyful people.

Awesome work dude. I love how you didn't go to the stereotypical "dwarf" look. Both guy and girl look amazing. I mean who ever said Dwarves have to be short stocky hairy and ugly? Go Wen! You rock and I love your style man.

I think they look fine for dwarves.
The female is fine in my opinion. As long as she's short and strong, she's a dwarf, right?

I think they look bad ass. xD Looking "dwarf" is just a stereotype that must people try to follow, his dwarfs, would be sweet in other things. ^^ They looks mischievous.

Oooh sweet! Finally a character in your set that I could costume as. (Gonna do a front view of the rogue?) I'm fine with your dwarves stature and design. If you look at your normally lithe artwork, these are much more sturdy looking then most. I'm also totally digging the horn hairstyle on the guy there. The only thing I could say is that your ladies tend to be very similar in face/hair. For a game design this is probably best, but perhaps going with some more varied hairstyles might increase the differences in your female (humanoid) designs. Actually in this one, the back is good. Lots of texture and body. But the front has a smooth almost flat ironed look to it which you use somewhat regularly.
just my 2 cents - not worth nothin though, since it's not cash in pocket.

She looks abit more like a halfling But this is a great piece of work, though I would like to see the man's hair a little more, hmm, longer, and curlier or wavey, and possibly a longer beard
Don't mind my thoughts though! This IS a terrific piece of art, I love it It's roxor xD

These two look great, the proportions look fine to me and major kudos for ignoring the insulting "Fat and dumpy" Dwarf Stereo-type and doing your own take on them. Trust me these two rock, and I draw Dwarves all the time (come have a look!). I love their hair and I adore the female!

Oh God, you're... I've never seen dwarves like this before (as you can guess) and I find them (amazing, of course and as usual) interresting due to their look and their... er... missing beard.
Unusual and awesome dwarves

This is probably one of the slowest comments out there, but... I am a personal fan of these dwarves! As much as I love the sterotypical Male Dwarf, I think your style beats the sterotype out. As for the female. I have always wanted to see a "pretty" Female Dwarf, because personally (after playin WoW) I find that I disliked the sterotypical fem. dwarf. I don't think there's any problems with either of them! Perfect. ^^

I like the female dwarf. :3 Much better than what I'm used to seeing...and the male doesn't have a beard to his stomach--nice change. XD I've been playing a lot of WoW. I like your differences. The axe is pretty nice too. <.<; (Heck, I can't point out a drawing of yours that I don't like.
) Keep up the wonderful work.

Y'know, I'm fine pretty much with the way your femal dwarf looks. The only thing I would change, would to give her a little more meat. She looks to thin. Add a little squish to the woman dwarf!

the rogue is cuuute! i like your approach to female dwarves, always disliked the idea of them looking like their on steroids (no offense to anyone who actually is on steroids). dunno if it would always work, but it's different. i still wish the guy had a bigger beard...

The male is great. It actually look like a dwarf.
The female is completely off though.
It's not cause it is a female that you have to make it look like a human.
She should be shaped aproximatively like him.
..though I feel like repeating what other peoples have already said.

I'm not even sure why some people consider these dwarves "unusual"... they look about right to me, and rendered with your usual awesome stylings.!
Okay, sure... the girl doesn't look like a walking brick. Rather, from the side, like a shortish human girl. By showing her in profile, it diminishes your ability to show girth or density, so she does come across as a little lightweight. But then, she's a rogue and looks kind of young... why shouldn't she be lightweight?
I think there are two sides... some would say, "Why can't dwarves look more like people, younger, sharper?" On the other hand, even humans from one region can have traits that make them look totally different than folks from another... so why shouldn't Dwarves, a whole other race, have such traits (looking thick, old, etc...)?
And then there's the 3rd consideration, which maybe renders the debate pointless. Could it be that cute/hot female character designs just sell more video games? : )
Again, just out of curiosity, on this project do you ever get requests from your employers to sex it up a bit? Add some boobs, make ordinarily unattractive races look more attractive, etc... ?
