Description good spanking morning yo~

anima returns with a pretty boy, guy may be? XD

the idea is that instead of killing the malicious ghost, he returns them into their original self before sending them to their next destination.

a rather nice guy, i suppose.

I suppose that would be the opposite of an exorcist, I guess? As opposed to driving the spirit out, he gives them a body to inhabit?

As always, I love the detail in your work, and the swirls of the spirit's essence are truly lovely.

He is like an excorcist. He just turns ghosts who have been twisted back into their original selves so they can ascend to Heaven or wharever.

Hmm. I interpereted the scene and Wen's text as more that Damaris was giving them back their original bodies, and releasing them to travel on as they willed. Kinda like a 'Revive' spell, but more potent, and not requiring a body on hand to perform.

"the idea is that instead of killing the malicious ghost, he returns them into their original self before sending them to their next destination."

This sounds like a sort of purification/excorcism. the class doesn't destroy the ghost's essence, or send them to the underworld. He just allows them to ascend. In religions involving reincarnation this would be a great thing. Though, I've heard the predominant religion is Catholicism. I'm not really familliar with their view of the afterlife.

I've read (and own) the Anima handbook, so I've got an understanding of the mechanics of the game.

I also know that one's 'next destination' could be a physical place as much as a spiritual one- and that there is an entire campaign setting for the spirits of Anima.

Also, with enough skill sets in creation magic (which a lot of healers have) a particularly skilled priest would be capable of spontaneously generating a body for a spirit to inhabit peacefully, before sending them on to 'their next destination.'

My interpretation has Damaris as a very high-level cration mage, offering departed souls an opportunity to correct the wrongs committed while they were twisted as a ghost, and I like that. This view is also very plausible given enough levels in the guidebook. If it's not the original intent, well, art is always up to interpretation, and will always be seen differently by different people. The only thing to prevent this would be for Wen to post a copy of Damaris' character sheet with the art.

That's the lovely thing about art- you can see one thing, I can see another, and we are both right, and both wrong at the same time.
