I think that is -its- helmet. But I could be wrong. The ant does look small in relation to the flowers though.

i cant see that ant wearing a human helmet... considering the size of its freaking huge ass mandibles.

Also, take a look at the structure it is on. I'm not sure something that small would be so highly intricate, let alone just right there in the grass. And with the grass being so rampant, it would be covered, if it were tiny.

Well if you compare it to the grass strands instead, then it seems to be more human sized.
