I went crazy and added a whole lot of stuff to the original until it totally ruined the composition. and yeah, this pic was never done. It's also the biggest digital painting i have done so far, 132mbs, it was totally killing my 1.7 ghzt processor. XDAnyway, Lucent adjusting his lute somewhere in the swampy areas of the Teia's Isles. The original idea was to add in the Water faery some where on the left, to kinda balance it out, but i never did cuz i didnt wanna draw her in a back view (cant see pretty face XD )

Overall, the blend of colour is wonderful! It does give the air of a fertile and mysterious, but nonetheless magical, swamp (in my opinion). The textures are wonderful, as well as the character design and the imprints on the beautiful lute he carries. The butterfly is a great touch as well. So much for composition I can hardly find a mistake at all

I'd like to see you redo this piece the way you yourself suggested. Have less in it such that the focus is on him and whatever else you want to be seen. I like the technique you used... its almost a pastel rendering as a background. Inconsitent, but I believe, rightfully so perhaps.
I'll withhold saying more in the hopes you'll do something similar to this again. I know its hard to redo something you've already done, but maybe begin a different work...?
Less color in the background and maybe a different color shirt? Just suggestions of course, as always.

Oh wow it's so beautiful! I reminds me a bit of how beautiful the woods around my house used to be before some morons started going back there and throwing junk about... too bad it isn't legal to hunt litter bugs! lol
And the guys sitting there, he looks so happy and peaceful with his lute! I'm envious of him right now! gah... great work!

Really great background on it's own and really great character on it's own, but I think the two contrast a little bit too much. I have a hard time merging characters to a background in a realistic setting alot as well.

I...can only say that I envy....ENVY your skill sensei. It must've taken a hell of a lot of time to get that detail. Geez I would never have the energy. I guess that's my career down the drain....

Absolutley lovely. In most pictures like this, he would be the focus of the whole image, and I really like the fact that he's not. I also like the little butterfly

OH mY God..i thought it is a painting ! very detailed, i wonder how long you finish it! you choose a beautiful color there's a lot monochrome but it was'nt plain at all ! Seriously this pict is deserved to be a fave ! please make some information if you publish your comic and i do hope , it will be publish in Indonesia..well i wonder, i will buy that for sure ! god, it IS kinda.. overwhelming? too much, it's way too busy - it changes it from what could've been a beautiful, clam picture into a kind of hectic, rushed one.
not saying it's bad, I mean you at all the tiny details, and it's just amazing.

this is like, WAY different than your other stuf o_O!!! the background is beautiful though, the scenery is nice+ colorful, and the water is really cool cus it reflects the flowers
