I went crazy and added a whole lot of stuff to the original until it totally ruined the composition. and yeah, this pic was never done. It's also the biggest digital painting i have done so far, 132mbs, it was totally killing my 1.7 ghzt processor. XDAnyway, Lucent adjusting his lute somewhere in the swampy areas of the Teia's Isles. The original idea was to add in the Water faery some where on the left, to kinda balance it out, but i never did cuz i didnt wanna draw her in a back view (cant see pretty face XD )

The concept is just...wow. I love the concept. If you wanted to put the faery in, couldn't she be going away, but turning back for one last look or soemthing like that?

The figure is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the setting you've put him in. My only critique is that the foreground and midground are the same in regards to atmospheric perspective, so it flattens that area out a bit too much.
And I am scoffing at your 1.7 ghz processor crying over a 132mb image. My old 900mhz clunker can handle an image up to 350mb at working size. Maybe you just need more RAM?

hmm, if you're really worried about the compostion, maybe try putting something yellow on the left. more flowers or butterflies? but it's fine the way it is.

I love how vibrant all the colors are. My eye is immediately drawn to Lucent's golden lute, and then straight up to his face (which isn't too bad either, hehe

i love how you did the figure & the moss on the tree. i'm in awe.
the only thing i'm unsure of the the water toward the front of the picture, it seems to soft, jsut teh patch towards the left centre at the bottom. but it's not even a big deal. this is just great. <3

Amazing impressionist background. I like the off-centered presentation, I think it adds a feel of the solitude of the scenery. Nice butterfly, too.

The composition is not ruined, it's ever so neat. ^.^ I really like how he draws you in right away and the lotuses circle round into the steam and lead your eye to the back. And the green is uber awesome.

Such a beautiful and peaceful scene.
That character is done with very different style than that background. It makes a nice effect but it also looks like that background would be a photo and you just drew this guy into it. Also all those details are making that character look too simple.
All those details are so lovely. Glad to see that somebody else is making detaild landscapes too. It's a good thing that the character is not in the middle of the picture, it makes this look more interesting. I also like the color you used in that lute, it's so bright and gives more attention to that character.

yeah, i spend alot of time on painting the guy, i was gonna do the same with the background, only to realize i may take a few months if i was to render everything as nice as the guy. LOL

wow - pitty it's not ended. but i understand the pain of slow cpu - i have 450 and even simple 1024x768 in stupid 75 dpi kills it completly. anyway... it would be great work
