The concept was, he is tall and wise.So hes tall, and has a book (wise...hahahah)
2 hour drawing, 2 hour coloring, i had a hard time coming up with a color scheme. i still dont like the colors for the outfit much but i liked the wings.

Lovely piece. I'll agree with jpak that it reminds me a bit of War of Genesis. The book is the perfect ascessory for showing him as wise. ^-^ I'm just in awe of the costume design as well.

Like all your other art it is amazing. Absolutely stunning. However to compare it with every other piece of art you've done would do no justice, simply because each piece you do is gorgeous. I really like the colors, they give off "wise" vibes. As for his hair and the rest it only adds to the entire image you were trying to portray. XD Very tall and very wise = Very SEXY.

Splendid image and colors! Did you know that "Metatron" means "Next to the throne?" It derives from the Greek. Metatron is also a character from Burying the Shadow of the english writer Storm Constantine, a writes most concerned with the concept of fallen angels!

Ordinarily I would not interfere, but you are not correct about the meaning of the Greek word tron. Thronos is the Greek word for throne/chair. Tron is an old Greek word which roughly means "instrument". I think the original implied meaning of the phrase/name meta-tron was probably "In the presence of the voice/Speaks with the voice", or something similar.

You may be right, of course. I read Robert Graves, who says that "Metatron" may be an Hebrew rendition of "Meta Thronos". But your interpretation may be valid .

His ideas are certainly interesting; but, if he is famous for anything, it is conjecture and reinterpretation. It is unlikely that this would have occurred as a linguistic error. Not impossible, so you may be right as well, just unlikely. I believe that Middle English and Old French both removed the "h" from the spelling, but kept most of the pronunciation rules intact. Latin simply updated to thronus . I do not know of a linguistic tendency that would have led Hebrew to adopt the form tron for thronos. Considering that you must work backwards from tron to wherever it may have been altered and combined with an unaltered meta, it is just difficult to see the validity of the suggestion that Graves makes. The time constraint, the contemporary processes of linguistic correction, and the existence of two available unaltered Greek roots are among the reasons why I believe my interpretation is probably correct. I think it is just more likely that Graves was unaware of the Greek word tron at the time that he formed this idea.

First let me say Mr. Wen-M that these sort of comments are a personal pleasure, and that your art triggers them, so you shall have to live with that fact ^_^U (and this type of comments from me ÂŽ_ÂŽU
Now, I would also like to ask you if you have read or heard of a demonic spirit called "Legion". I ask this because I find this particular spirit rather interesting and unique for its body possession characteristics, as well as for its weaknesses. I must also be sincere to you, I have not read much about demonology (knowing only that the best books on the subject are, if I recall rightly, french and italian), but there is enough folklore and religious knowledge in the air (consider my birthplace and actual residence; Mexico) to glimpse a bit of what ancient lore has been handed down generation after generation.

he reminds me of the cherubim from madeline l'engle's a wrinkle in the door with all his wings and eyes(?). after i read your description thingie and noticed the book, i thought of destiny from neil gaiman's sandman comics. destiny is chained to a huge book that contains everything that happened, is happening, and will happen, hence his name.
