probably because when fable was first advertised they used an image of a guy where half of him was super good drenched in golden light while the other half was shrouded in darkness representing a pure evil version of the same character....

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for being able to create such a splendidly detailed masterpiece. Heck, I am actually taking time off from doing my History project to analyzing this work. But anyway.
The part where his hair separates [excuse me for I've forgotten the formal terming] is a bit off. His 'gray hair-half' is too high for his 'golden hair-half'. I do not know if this is intended or a careless mistake [though I think it is probably the former], but I thought I would point it out all the same.
... Oh shoot man, I really can't think of much else to critique. :S ... Hmm, you've lazed off on the background, have you? 
Asides from that, his shoulders look a little too, well, flat--perhaps add a little volume to it and it'll look a little better..? Also, his waist seems a little too thin. I suggest expanding both sides by around 5 - 10 pixels, and he should look more 'manly', per say.
