I am the luckiest wench in the world, and live within a 5 hour drive of the HMS Surprize, a full size reproduction of a "pirate" ship. This was drawn on the way back from visiting it last month.Many thanks to Mizzd and her stock photographs! [link]

I am very, very fortunate: I get to be a full time artist. I'm also raising and homeschooling two boys, but I get 6 to 10 hours to paint every single day. I finally started making enough money as an artist to quit my job last year--mind you, I'm not doing this alone, my husband works full time as well.

I worked as an artist in the game industry for nine years before going out on my own. I don't even try for publication jobs, there is too much competition and I am too shy. I sell originals on ebay and sell prints at sci-fi and fantasy conventions.
