Description
I made a lot of new DA friends latelyIt's the classic boy-and-his-dog story. But it's true! My best friend when I was a little boy was my dog (a cat joined later
Reference for the boy was a photo by Ed Curtis (what a surprise
For the dog/wolf I was allowed to use one of the marvellous photos by called Locked Up . In case you don't know this guy so far just visit his gallery. Most of his works are animal photos, but `guitarjohnny is not somebody who just points his camera towards animals - he captures their souls. I can promise you that you will find animal photos in his gallery you never dreamt of.
I want to thank him for letting me use the wolf photo.
I changed both the expressions of the boy and the wolf. I didn't want them to look too sad.
Drawn with Corel Photopaint using a tablet.
Original size: 3704 x 2974 px

This is possibly one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever laid eyes on. You definately know how to capture emotions in animals especially. When I saw the smirk of that wolf, it gave me the sense of security and the fact that if friends ever seperate they never grow apart from each other. I'm rather speechless to give you a mountain of praises, but this just touched my heart. BEAUTIFUL WORK.

Oo, I love wolves, they're my favorite animals, and you made it look as beautiful as it should really be...
You definitely have a proficiency in hairs, hehe. I also like the orange lighting of the sunset and the child's expression as well!
Excellent piece

Thanks for the introduction to Guitar Johnny. Wish I could spent more time in here but gotta work. Love this one. The wolf is a great spirit guide. I have always felt this connection to them, don't know why. Nice work.

I think, apart from the legend of the bad wolf, which isn't true btw , nowadays they stand for freedom, elegance and individuality. They are beautiful creatures.
A visit to *guitarjohnny 's gallery will convince everybody.

Beautiful image!
I agree with you. Animals, and especially dogs will love you no matter what. You could be a one-eyed, legless hunchback with leprosy and a dog will love you with all his heart. Dogs don't lie or decieve...if they don't like you they will bite you, but if they do they will show you that they do. They do not beat about the bush, make up excuses or fail to be there for you. Yes dogs rock!

wendelin In reply to utarefson670 [2005-10-07 18:39:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes, they do. I think, what makes them so lovable is that they can't hide their feelings. It's exactly like you describe it.
