Despite its scientific name, it's actually a herbivorous animal, that feeds on many plants like conifers or seaweed: it's one of the rare posthumans that live in boreal or subpolar regions, these regions being dominated by non-posthuman species. Its body plan, as well as its diet, implie that it has a marine ancestor, just like the amazon river dolphin or the nerpa seal from Planet Earth: it has evolved to live in fresh, even brakish water so it mainly lives in humid zones like swamps or rivers.
