Who is Optimus Prime? There are many different versions of this icon of western popular culture. Every fan have their own ideas of who he is and that is the way it should be. He doesn´t realy exist so we can and should treat him how we want.

This is how I choose to see him and I don´t realy care how canon or anyone else disagrees with me.

Optimus Prime doesn´t try to be a hero. He just want to do the best he can.

He is a machine but as he is self aware he have a soul in a way.

He was built in a factory, not born by a fembot.

He often feels the weight of the world on his shoulders but he doesn´t allow himself to get depressed, that is something he can not afford.

He wishes for peace but prepares for war.

He doesn´t want to kill Decepticons but will not hesitate to do what is needed to stop them.

He doesn´t have a family in the human meaning but he have a role similar to a brother, father, husband and son to many Autobots.

Ironhide is his best friend.

He loves many robots but that doesn´t mean he want´s to, or even are able to, go to bed with them.

Elita One is the one he loves most and seeing her again is one of his highest motivations.

He finds the human reproduction method confusing and inefficent.

He is not a god, he makes misstakes and when he does the consequences are serious.

He likes to play basket.

He dislikes rockmusic.

He is a very serious person but doesn´t let that stop him from enjoying life.

He is a extremely patient person. He can get angry but he will never go on a murderous rampage.

He never drinks high grade energon, no matter how many thousand times Ironhide will offer him a drink.

He is a devoted idealist and tries hard to not stray too far from the values he belies in.

The value of freedom is hardwired into his processor. He will never become disillusioned about that.

He will protect us the best he can but he would prefer it if we can protect ourselves.

He is fully aware of the fact that despite our similarities he will never truly understand humans and vice versa.

He have a sense of humor.
