Well, I definitely try, but drawings like this, take a special mood to make. The thing is - sometimes I just see face in my mind and draw it. And things become much easier.

I have some friends with some realistic drawings like this one and its curious that they same the same as you!! I simply prefer to not try it, of course, but I'm totally amazed how you can turn characters into this realistic and gorgeous look!!
