The use of acrylic definitely plays in favor to the style of the piece. Cool dark piece.
For me, the piece transmits degeneration - it reminds me of a soul, once gentle, now vilely tortured and sealed into silence and isolation. The creature tries to scream, as if a desperate wish to end its misery for once and all.
