Description
Hello good people! My name is Nicholas Hurtig and I'm from Sweden. I am very (very) new to the whole 3D modeling scene. Actually I only learnt 3D max last week. What I am posting now are pictures of my very first attempts at 3D modeling. The item in question, is a Tau Gunship from Warhammer 40k. If anyone has seen one modeled better (or at all) please tell me so I can switch project without wasting to much time
This is only the turret part with no materials applied. This turret represents about 40+ hours of work as I have to seek help in the manual constantly

That is very cool indeed. Any chance some of us might be able to get our hands on it for some fun?

Fantastic model and a good clean render. I should imagine that has a nice clean mesh hidden under those polys. Nice work

Nice first time man!!
Little advice; skip the manual and learn from tutorials!
First use max tutorials and then surf the web for them, if u can't find good ones i could help!

That's damn fine work from someone who has only a weeks experience on Max. If the rest of the ship comes off as good as that you'll definetlyn have a +fav from me There's absolutely nothing to complain.

Thanks! Appreciate the cudos! Since I am also new to Deviant Art, what is +Fav?

+fav comes from favorite. AKA If someone has a good picture and you would like to give him something more than just congratulations for a nice piece of work, then you give his or her picture a +fav. After that the image you gave that fav will appear on your favorites list. Ask if you'd like to know more about something you don't know.
