Description
I put together this CV for a work experience interview I had a couple of years ago, which was sent through digitally. The response I got was initially quite mixed; a CV is usually a boring sheet of A4, but I thought as I was going for a place in a design firm I should kind of challenge the idea of what a CV was and design it like so, especially since they curiously didn't ask to see a portfolio or anything similar. The people at the design firm quickly saw the idea of this type of CV as a positive, and I got the place. In addition, I also adapted this CV into a more extensive combined CV and Portfolio for university interviews for entry onto a Graphic Design course (Think of it as it is but with the work examples section expanded across numerous spreads) The reaction to this was also very positive. I also show this to clients if they want a brief overview of what I do, my skills and examples of my work.

Do you have a higher resolution image? I am curious as to what you actually wrote for your CV. Wording is more a concern for me than design.

I'm looking for something similar to what you have displayed. In addition to the CV, I'd like a business card, portfolio spread at the back of the CV and do you design logos? My website is called www.ptahphotography.com and I'm looking to have something done with the name to use as a type of brand. Lexie

Could you please tell me in which format did you send it?
Was it PDF or some other?
I'm asking because PDF can screw up displaying of finer patterns that are often used for web design. For example diagonal scan lines or similar stuff, which would make it very bad for sending web design work examples maybe.
I'd appreciate response very much, and even more quick response.
Thanks

Yes it was sent in PDF format, the way you get round problems with intricate patterns is saving screenshots in a lower resolution. You may still get the issue described but to a lower degree and only in rare situations. Hope this helps

Yes! What size did you print this? Did you get it printed somewhere or on your own? Print-to-edge or did you have to trim it?

I scoured through all your comments and noticed this wasn't really intended for print, but sent electronically. Makes sense.
Would still be nice to know HAD you decided to print this, what would you do? Or would you do something completely different for print?

Great work, i was wondering - did you construct this with indesign or photoshop? And with this method how did you present this digitally? as a .PDF?

Did this help you out in your job search? I saw this in a showcase of creative c.v's and so i thought i'd ask what kind of response you got to it.

Good question, well I put together this CV for a work experience interview I had a couple of years ago, which was sent through digitally. The response I got was initially quite mixed; a CV is usually a boring sheet of A4, but I thought as I was going for a place in a design firm I should kind of challenge the idea of what a CV was and design it like so, especially since they curiously didn't ask to see a portfolio or anything similar. I also show this to clients if they want a brief overview of what I do, my skills and examples of my work.
All in all, this CV and the documents that came from it have helped a great deal.
Hope this helps

It does. It's nice to see it's helped you out a great deal.
From my experience i've found that i have needed two cv's one word document and the "fancy one" as alot of recruiters end up asking for the word document when applying for jobs.
