Well, it's finally done. Part 2 of my Aliens Deboot Trilogy. I hope I'll eventually get around to Part 3 and finish the trilogy. Enjoy.

I enjoyed it mostly but is there something wrong with the sound? I watched a lot of it without sound and just kinda guessed what was going on...I'm not sure if it was my phone or the video or both

When the flying aliens showed up I was like lol I think I'd just give up at that point. It was cool when bishop caught that one facehugger. The animation quality seems to go up and down is that because you got better at it or just some parts are easier to animate?
I loved seeing Ripley at the end can't wait to see the next one

I don't think there's something wrong with the sound. I looked at some of it, there's still sound. And I've had a few comments who didn't say anything about the sound.

Don't brightly know, I do think my animation has gotten better since Aliens Unleashed, but I kinda half ass things because I don't have a lifetime to finish these. I'd really like to finish these movies quick. It took me about a year and a half to do this one. I do the best I can with the best of my ability.

Yeah, Ripley was a prize for the audience, I wanted it to be like "your friend came back." It wasn't in the original script, but it was a great addition.

Right now I'm trying to start the next movie, but I can't start animating until I do the voices first. But people are unreliable. I mean, my brother and his wife can help me, but everyone else is busy. Again, I have a voice changer, that has a comparator that tells you the percentage of how close your voice is compared to the voice you're trying to imitate. But I don't know if it's full proof. I get mixed reviews. I think my brother's not really crazy about it but said that if people don't know me than they probably don't know it's all the same person, my #1 fan thinks I should do it but he may not like that I have to wait on people as much as I do, and my friend thinks it's okay but he might be tired of hearing my complain about not having actors, I asked him if he thought the voice changer made them sound silly on Friday the 13th, he said no. My brother did say that the women voices do sound like women. I don't know. I'm just tired of waiting on people and I'd like to finish this trilogy before I'm dead.

Maybe you should watch the movie on a computer instead of a phone.

Alright if no one else mentioned it it must be my phone I'll watch it again on the computer or my PlayStation I just didn't want to keep putting off watching it.
Wow! A year and a half that's crazy I'd going insane...I can't commit to a hobby for that long, I start to lose all the enjoyment of it.
As soon as I saw Ripley was so looking forward to the next one. Its gonna be awesome.
I don't know...I think the voice changer is probably fine, people who watch these aren't going to care too much about whether the voices sound perfect, they're enjoying the stories or at least that's my opinion.

Well first I started the animation, then I stopped to get a voice cast, record all their dialogue while I was in college, then I had a storyboard job when I graduated, then I got back into animating, which took me a long time, I finished animating before I got my internship, then there was the editing, mostly sound effects and music. But I'm glad I did it. I just hope I can work on Part 3 while I have my internship, cause I'm pooped at the end of work, so I'd probably have to work on it on weekends now.

Regarding Ripley, that's what I was going for. Originally I didn't want to include her at all, but someone gave me the idea that I was being a hypocrite for replacing Ripley with Newt and Hicks. So I included her, because I do love Ripley, even though I wish Sigourney Weaver declined Alien3. I was mostly worried about her declining my movie because it retconned 3 and 4. But I guess some actors don't take it that personally, look at Jamie Lee Curtis starring in a Halloween movie that ignored her previous three Halloween sequels. Still need to see that. But yeah, I'm glad I included her, it wouldn't be right not to include. And it was great writing the relationship between Newt and Ripley. Newt has somewhat of a resentment for Ripley for being MIA since Aliens, and how they reconcile.

So far my friend thinks it's okay, I showed him a sample of my voices modified to sound like a character, a woman to be exact. He said he liked it, and he's brutally honest. I'm just worried about some guy complaining about the voices. Yeah, I do think people ignore the bad animation in favor of the story, but I still want the voices to sound right.

Well, let me know if you get sound watching it somewhere else. I hope there's nothing wrong with the sound. I mean, I didn't watch it straight through on YouTube, but the video I uploaded was okay. And I jumped between scenes after you said so and I didn't see any problems. And again, no one else has complained about it. I'm sure someone would have.

Well that's cool... Sounds like it'll be a very long time before part 3 though. Sadly employment frequently leads to exhaustion and tends to make it hard to enjoy our hobbies, I know I hardly have any time lately. Its nice that you have weekends free though.

I actually like Hicks better than Ripley myself but she and Newt are great so I look forward to seeing them together again especially since it sounds like it'll be similar to the original Aliens scene where Ripley's daughter blames her for abandoning her, that should be really interesting. I don't think Sigourney would turn down a movie ignoring some of the sequels... That whole idea had become kinda popular now which is a good idea given all the great movies ruined by horrible sequels...I have really high hopes for the new Terminator
I understand wanting the voices to be right I'd just advise not letting it drive you crazy...I don't think any of your viewers would mind it not being perfect.
I'll let you know about the sound but if you didn't find any problems and no one else has mentioned it I'm pretty sure the problem is on my end

Yeah, I've come to the assumption the voice changer that it doesn't work as well as I thought it did. So I'm just have to get actors, which sucks because everyone is always busy. I wish I could do the animation first. I did do the animation first on Aliens Unleashed, but that didn't turn out too well because some of the actors had trouble matching their voices with the mouth movements, because I used my own voice to time it, but apparently I speak faster than most people.

Yeah, I love Hicks and Ripley, I just wanted to pursue a story that was different from the others. Some people think you can't have an Alien movie without Ripley, which I don't think is true, that's why I saw more potential in Newt. In fact, I blame the series jumping the shark because of their desire to keep doing movies focusing solely on Ripley. And as you can tell, my strategy of how I did this trilogy was based on the Aliens comics, Part 1 and 2 on Newt and Hicks, and Part 3 on Newt, Ripley, and Hicks. I even have a short story that tells where Ripley has been after Aliens. What's really great about the ending of my story is Newt saves Ripley, Ripley gets injured and Newt carries her out like she did for her in Aliens.

I'll keep you posted. I could try animating first, now that I know better. I'll see what other people think I should do.

That's too bad...I wish you luck finding actors. Do you pay your actors? If so you could probably find people on craigslist. If not you could try looking for a local acting class I bet people in there would happily do it just for the practice

I agree with you. If Alien 3 had been someone other than Ripley I'd like it considerably more.
I noticed that your story is similar to the comics, which is cool because I really liked the comics. I'm looking forward to seeing Hicks' reaction to Ripley returning

Yeah keep me posted I enjoy your videos a lot

I keep getting mixed opinions of my voice changer, some people think they sound good, some people think they sound like martians. But the good news is I think I managed to round up some friends who are trying to schedule time to get together and record. And use the voice changer as a last resort.

Yeah, I can't pay people, don't have the money. I thought about posting on a local film group online, but I don't think they allow promoting movies that I don't own.

Regarding Alien3, the problem I had with it was that Ripley went through all that in Aliens to save Newt, and then Newt dies anyway making it all pointless. Ripoff dude. Like I said, I think they killed them off because they wanted to focus all on Ripley. They could've gone a million different ways, and they decided to throw those characters away like they didn't matter in the second movie. And, I don't understand why some people think the best way to end a franchise is to kill EVERYONE.

I will keep you posted. And thanks for liking my movies.

Oh that's great I hope they all work out

well you could try posting to craigslist... That might find you one or two people.

Yeah I've made that same point everything that happens in Aliens is made irrelevant by the first 10 seconds of Alien 3. Also there's that incredibly inaccurate trailer where it says "on earth everyone can hear you scream" now that sounds like a good movie.
I feel like they killed everyone off because they wanted it to be a sequel to Alien...maybe they really disliked Aliens or maybe James Cameron was mean to them once who knows

Yeah, the balling is rolling. But I wanna get back in the swing of things with animating, so I think while I'm waiting on my actors, I'm gonna work on a teaser trailer for my AVP reboot. I has to be a teaser, because a trailer would require dialogue too. I would love to do a trailer with dialogue, but I don't have time to round up a cast for that too, I'm barely getting this together. I'm going for something self-explanatory without dialogue, dark, omniscient, and then when the Aliens and the Predators pop up, that's when the footage and the music gets very suspenseful.

I don't trust Craigslist, plus I don't think people will come to a person's apartment to record and I don't want strangers to come to my house. Right now I'm sticking with people I trust.

Oh, don't get me started on the tagline for Alien3. Why do you think I set my story on Earth, I think it was about time for them to be there (not including the AVPs), I wanted a zombie apocalypse, but with Aliens. I think that was the original idea for an Alien 5, where Ripley #8 was gonna be on Earth during an Xenomorph outbreak and they were gonna take refuge in a mall like Dawn of the Dead or something. But Sigourney Weaver didn't like the idea of the Aliens on Earth, which was one of the reasons I omitted her from Aliens Apocalypse.

That's great I'm glad you're getting things going. I look forward to seeing your teaser...I tend to prefer teasers to trailers myself anyway.

Ah I understand...If I'd put a little more thought into that I would've realized that of course you don't want total strangers in your house. I don't know what I was thinking.

Sigourney didn't want the aliens on Earth? Wow. I've always felt like that was the ultimate idea... Battle for earth, its epic. As much as I love her honestly I wish they'd given her less say over the alien movies...I don't think I liked any of her ideas

WeylandYutaniCorp In reply to terminator1fan [2018-11-10 07:56:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I hope I can get some work done. I already started one a long time ago, but I need to cut out the scenes with dialogue and redo some scenes to replace with new models with my fan cast models.

Well, it's not really about what she says about the movies. She just didn't like the script and they didn't wanna do a movie without her. Like I said, they put too much stake in Sigourney Weaver when they could've done an Alien movie without her, but too scared thinking that an Alien movie can't succeed without her. But yeah, she did executive produce Alien3, which was the reason there were no guns in Alien3, because she's actually against guns. In fact, the one thing she didn't like about Aliens was that Ripley used a gun, but somehow she bit the bullet, no pun intended, and pulled through in that role.

Yeah I knew about the no gun thing...I didn't hate that idea but I didn't like it either but then her whole make love to an alien thing was stupid and I hate that they actually put it into Alien Resurrection

Thanks for wishing me luck. I'll get some voices recorded and maybe get some animation done on my AVP teaser.

Make love to an Alien? I had heard something about that, but I thought that was a myth. Are you referring to the scene when Ripley separates from the group? I thought that the Alien was carrying her to the nest. Plus, how can she make love to an Alien? Aliens don't have reproductive organs.

terminator1fan In reply to WeylandYutaniCorp [2018-11-11 01:31:54 +0000 UTC]

I'm surprised to hear you thought it was a myth I've heard it several times... I'm pretty sure James Cameron even mentions it in the commentary on aliens. The whole thing was...not the best plotline ever but I guess maybe the imperfect cloning process made it possible. That's how the newborn is conceived.

WeylandYutaniCorp In reply to terminator1fan [2018-11-11 01:51:06 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I heard about it, and I’ve heard the Aliens commentary, but again, I thought he was mistaken. Because, it doesn’t seem possible. Because Aliens don’t have reproductive organs, and if the Newborn came out of that, it doesn’t make since either because how can two females, Ripley #8 and the Queen conceive a hybrid baby. I was under the impression that the Newborn came from the Queen having her DNA mixed with human from Ripley in the cloning process like how Ripley #8 had her DNA mixed with Aliens from the Queen.

I agree it didn't make any sense but watching the scene and the way the camera seems to be watching Ripley make very pleasurable faces it seems as though sex was the implication...if either of us meets joss whedon and he corrects me then I'd be happy but at this point my interpretation of that scene is that the two have their romantic interlude and the newborn was conceived

WeylandYutaniCorp In reply to terminator1fan [2018-11-11 03:38:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, doesn’t matter, one of the reasons I didn’t wanna follow the storyline of Alien3 or Alien Resurrection and only follow the story of Alien and Aliens, the ones I love and care about only.

But I’ve recorded some dialogue and I think I’m getting a lot more patient, my actors: my brother and his wife are doing a good job and I’m recording my mother as Ripley this weekend as well and keep scheduling more actors. Again, I’m getting a lot less frustrated. I’m more PO’ed at the people who I haven’t heard from in awhile and leave messages for and still don’t get back to me.

As for my future projects. I could work on that AVP teaser I told you about, or I could remake my old fan edited trailers of the third part of my Aliens trilogy since I’ll soon have all the dialogue I need for one of those trailers. In the case of my AVP I could probably use audio from other Aliens media, like the line fro the AVP game “Alright listen up! We have a potential Xenomorph infestation here!” Or something from Colonial Marines implicating Wey-Yu’s conspiracy. Or maybe I’ll just make it with no dialogue. There is one line I wish I could put in the trailer. See, the Predators dropped Alien eggs on a colonized planet and some of the colonists disappeared in the woods outside the colony. So the Marines are brought in to investigate, when Wey-Yu PMCs show up telling them that they’re in charge. The line is where the Wey-Yu PMCs are saying “we should have no trouble locating our objective” and the lead Marine asks “you mean the colonists right?” Or I could finish my Friday the 13th prequel Pamela’s Tale I started a lifetime ago with the voice changer but put aside to work on Apocalypse.

Yes I don't care even remotely about alien 3 or resurrection... In my mind they didn't happen at all

It's good that you're getting more Zen about it.., fan projects shouldn't be too frustrating.

Wow you have a lot of projects going at once. I don't really have any advice for you... I'm personally not a big Friday the 13th fan so of course I'd lean towards one of the alien projects but it's all up to which one you're feeling good about.

WeylandYutaniCorp In reply to terminator1fan [2018-11-11 19:12:20 +0000 UTC]

That's my philosophy. My half brothers were the ones who helped me believe in that, like you said they said that they pretend they didn't happen and I was like "I don't like those movies, I don't watch them. So why do I have to consider them canon?" That was my revelation and thus began my Aliens trilogy. It's interesting how my stories went from an extra long script that I was able to cut down, which then evolved into lots of drafts for a trilogy, that I made into lots of fan art, to a short lived comic I started, then finally an animated movie series. Two down, one to go.

Yeah, I am trying to be more Zen. I am also wondering if I should take this as an opportunity to take a break from animating while I'm busy working for awhile. But I would eventually like to get back into animating, which is why I wanna work on something smaller until I can get back to work on another feature. Just take it one weekend after another.

Oh, that's nothing. I have a dozen projects I wanna work on. I wrote a Predator trilogy, an AVP trilogy, a couple of Terminator stories, I also wanna adapt the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic books, not to mention the canceled TV series I wanna make continuations of like Sarah Connor Chronicles and Ash vs. Evil Dead, and much more, I even wanna adapt some lesser known young adult books that I read as a child, which got me really interested in reading, I also want to animate my own Alien prequel that I wrote to fill the gap between Covenant and Alien in case the real one doesn't take off, which so far looks like it won't. Also, I got a fan who convinced me to write more AVP stories, mostly because I felt that AVP didn't get to have a successful or well received franchise, I drew up plans for more stories that I never intended to make into features, and my fan read them and said I should finish them. I started fleshing out one of the AVP stories, and I got pretty far, but I had to put it aside for working on other projects and then I got my non-fun working job. I also thought of a couple of other stories using ideas I never got to use. But I'm worried it will exceed my lifetime since I don't have all the time in the world anymore and since I got to wait on actors and they already take a lifetime to do even when I'm half-assing it. But so far, all I wanna finish is my Aliens trilogy, and if I can work on more, at least finish my Predator trilogy and AVP trilogy. That's my bucket list right now.

terminator1fan In reply to WeylandYutaniCorp [2018-11-11 19:28:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's my philosophy as well...I hate everything after terminator 2 so I pretend it doesn't exist Same thing with aliens...I find I'm happier living in my own little world of no terrible sequels.

Wow! That is an insane number of projects lol you make me feel like a slacker because I never got any where with my terminator comic... Maybe I should get back into that.
For the most part I find I don't have the patience to stick with big projects no matter how much I love the subject matter... Once the project starts to feel like work I tend to abandon it.

"I reject your reality and substitute my own."

Yeah, it's a lot of work. In fact, I haven't animated since I started my job, when I was about to start my job I knew I wouldn't have anymore time, so my goal was to finish the animating before I go to work, which fortunately I did. It's easier to do voice work and editing while I'm working than animating. Right now I'm considering taking some time off while I'm doing the voice work and in this internship. But I would also like to get back in the swing of things someday on either my AVP trailer or an Alien trailer for Part 3 of my trilogy or my Pamela's Tale adaptation. Maybe during Thanksgiving break. But yeah, it's a lot of work, but I finish what I start because like you said, live in your own little world, this is my own little world and I don't settle for words on paper. And when I brought my first story to life, I was thinking that I wouldn't get a lot of hype and more people would tear me down for having such cruddy animation. But in the end, I got a #1 who is so dedicated to my work and he knows my stories better than I do and I wrote them, and he's always offering suggestions, he was the one who suggested the Alien crossbreeds I originally threw out. Every time he mentions a cool thing I did in my scripts I'm like "you are way too committed to this." And it's not just him, there are people who keep telling me "can't wait for the next one!" It sure puts more pressure on me because I need to finish them to satisfy the fans, but I love that they care even though my animation sucks. To quote an actress from one of my favorite documentaries regarding her fans' passion for her "it's just a gift."

That's really cool that you have devoted fans I certainly enjoy your videos so I'm glad that you put the work into them...I just don't have that kind of patience myself.
I think most people myself included are willing to overlook bad animation for a good story... bad acting is a little tougher but even then a quality story conquers all. Sadly Hollywood hasn't figured that out... they think that by pumping movies full of billion dollar cutting edge graphics people will automatically like them but that just isn't the case or at least it isn't to me
