Cool brushes, I've been looking for something to give me a more pencil feel when I use GIMP and this was recommended. I've seen so many good reviews for it that I can't wait to give them a try. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

I don't know if you know this, but I think one of these got into GIMP 2.8's default brush set. Well, one of the many animated brush layers at least. The first layer of the "crayon_thick128" (unnumbered backgrund layer) is incredibly similar to the "Charcoal 02" brush in 2.8 except 2.8's is rotated to be more horizontal than diagonal.

Oh whoops! I forgot to give my full thoughts on them. My bad! I LOVE the thick crayons! They are versatile in that they can create texture on things and the largest of the two thick crayons can write well. At smaller sizes it even mimics pencil. The rest... not so much. Unless I'm just not seeing their uses. Like, the thin ones (Bottom left on the image) create extremely similar squiggle lines. I don't really see them going beyond that abstract use since you can't really draw with them or create texture with them. They also don't hide each other very well so you can't really overlap them in different ways to do other things with them even if you rotate them. The regular-sized ones (the top portion of the image) make extremely linear squiggles of only one direction, though in their case, if you don't write in certain directions with them, they will overlap awkwardly and look unnatural. Again like the thin ones, rotating them doesn't change this factor.
But the thick crayons definitely make this a worthy download. I have been looking for animated brushes for texturing and writing with and they fit what I'm looking for perfectly! In the case of GIMP 2.8's possible use of a brush layer that I mentioned above, it was so linear that unless you randomize the rotation (Which is an extra step that can impede smooth workflow), it's "stamps" were so uniform that it wasn't all that worth using. The thick crayons however break up the monotony by having multiple layers of different shapes with a similar texture to each other that make them blend together to the point you cannot pick out any stamp over another, making for a very natural look.

Hope I'm not FAQ-ing, but it doesn't want to open in Photoshop (it says the file isn't the right sort). Am I doing something wrong?

I'm very eager to use these brushes, but when I go to move the brushes into the folder, I find that the folder is read only. I'm still kind of new to macs; is there a way to change the folder to modify so I can move those brushes in and finally use 'em? I admit I'm not a very tech savvy person, so a little guidance would help a lot.
