So the random pokemon generator happened spit out two pokemon I think are badass and two pokemon I really couldn't care less about. I had to cut this one short since I need to get back to things I actually should be doing...
Edit: One of my roommates declared my demented attempt Gorebyss to be a 3/10, and I can assume he'd rate my Tranquill lower too, and I'd agree to both, actually.

I must say that I like your version better than the official one, though. It's much cuter.
I did some further research on the matter after posting my last comment.
Apparently the reason for the small beak is to impale prey and suck out their bodily fluids 0.o And also they eat seaweed with it, too.
The Pokemon world is one I wouldn't want to visit q.q
