Zac Efron gives me the jibblies ever since I caught on to the fandom of "Zac Efron is KIRA". And I hear they're coming out with an American live action Death Note - and all I can say is that if they cast Zac Efron, and he does a DAMN good job, I'm gonna wake up screaming every night until I die T_T
(Maybe we're lucky and he's not all preppy Disney as High School Musical makes him seem. Maybe he's really dark and gothic and maybe even a DN fan! Score!)
As for L - there is no other. Kenichi Matsuyama IS L. Maybe we're lucky x 2 and Matsuyama-san knows English (*hyperventilating*)
AND you know what?! Maybe they'll get ILM to do the effects for Ryuk - AANNDD maybe they'll get the English voice actor for Ryuk (b/c HE gives me the hibbie-jeebies! THAT is what a Death God should sound like!!!)

I honestly hope so. I didn't really like the guy who played in the movie. I loved L though; terrific actor. As for Efron, I hope he is Kira; if this is real of course. I think he would want to move around a bit, to avoid being typecast as a good guy.

Honestly I think he'd be a great Kira if he did it right. It's a good transition from his High School Musical. He'll be exploring a different kind of role. Not to mention he's hothothot.

It's actually a fact that Zac Efron is a Death Note fan.
The only people that are mad about it are this kids that call theirselves emo. It's true. I went to a forum about this and the kids complaining had usernames like: DarkEmoAngel or EmoKittens

I really doubt that Matsuyama knows English well enough. That's why I thought about Johnny Depp as L. I think, he'd do quite a nice job, acting as an excentric, superintelligent detective.
As for Zac Efron, I'm rather sure he'd play Kira the way he should. He's a professional actor after all. I'm convinced he didn't want to play that sissy in the HSM series, but, seriously, look at him go, as though his whole live was that creepy musical.
Just me thinking stuff.

That will be.... interesting. Highschool Musical killed all of my respect for him, although it's not his fault that it was such a stupid movie... I think he could be a really good Light, he DOES look like him in many ways! I just hope they can find a good L, but my hopes are extremely low
