There are many words to describe the captain. Eccentric... energetic... adventurous... pioneering... courageous... reckless. She's quite a handful of energy and enthusiasm, always wanting to push the limit and make things happen. She's the type of cat that just can't sit still, otherwise she's internally bouncing back and forth with all these new ideas and goals. She's a creative one, and always searches for the next grand excitement! It's hard to get her in a serious light, for she's constantly in a child-like state, happy-go-lucky and flowing with bold exclaims. Perhaps, that is her being serious? It's hard to tell.
Despite her seemingly... disconcerting manner of being childish and foolhardy, she's actually quite intelligent and is a very good leader. You just have to get passed her blind optimism and tendency to bounce off the walls over excitement. Tessellate is also incredibly loud, sure to wake you up in the morning harder than a dose of strong, black coffee.

History; Tessellate was always the adventurous little cub. There was something about her, in her brain that never allowed her to be fully satisfied with certain things. She often pushed things passed their boundaries, explored places her parents advised against, and went to whole new extremes to satisfy this strange hunger. She never felt complete, whole, or alive unless she was doing something new, exciting, and even dangerous. This often got her into a lot of trouble, but no one could stop little Tess. Her parents were lucky enough to have her in the house for five minutes.
Her dad was quite into astronomy, it being both his hobby and his job. Tessellate found herself absolutely enthralled by the concept of the universe, the great unknown, the vast abyss of untouched worlds. This fascination, along with her desire to explore, carried on through the years, only growing stronger.
Tess, older now, about 22, was a famous adventurer. She climbed the most dangerous mountains, swam the deepest seas, and traversed the thickest jungles. Still, she needed more.
The age of 24 was when the idea of the X-Uberant struck Tess like a barreling gas tank. She flirted with the idea for quite some time before diving in, conjuring a team, and putting the plan into action at 25 years of age. All of her hard work was seemingly cut short for a while, as a close friend of hers fell ill and passed away, leaving her child in the care of Tess. Tess.... wasn't the best at parenting. She wasn't supposed to be a parent, and that really reflected on Mizuko, the young harp seal now under her wing. She was far too busy jumping back between hedonistic adventures and working on the X-U to take proper care of him. "Eh, what're you gonna do?" Enough said, she carried the kid along with her, parenthood just another fun little adventure for her.

Now 37, the X-Uberant is complete, cruising through the universe as intended.
