After Catherine the Great's order, Princess Elizabeth was locked in the Peter and Paul Fortress by Alexei Orlov. Orlov's heart lies with Elizabeth, therefore, after some time, he demanded from Catherine to release Elizabeth and let him leave his position with her. Catherine, with reluctance, agreed under one condition: overnight Alexei must find out Elizabeth's real name, and that she renounces her questionable right to the Russian Empire's throne. When Elizabeth finds out about this condition and that Orlov was behind the plan of her imprisonment, she stopped trusting him and told him that she has no other name, thereby condemning herself to starving to death in cold shackles.

I didn't even start the animatic series on Count Orlov and I'm already spoiling the entire story to the audience... EH, WHO CARES?
This drawing is based on one of my favorite songs from the musical "Count Orlov" - "The Last Date" (Последнее Свидание). For a very long time I wanted to draw this particular moment, but I couldn't put my hand on it, because every single time I tried to draw it - there was always something that I did not like. Finally, I managed to draw this moment in a way that doesn't make me want to poke out my eyes.
Originally I intended to draw this piece as a part of another future doodle dump of Count Orlov, but I've got carried away a tiny bit and.. Well, here we are!
