In the dialogue, Dashie is referred to as male, but is also called a seamare. Kind of confused there.

Same thing as a woman working on a ship can also be called a sailor, without changing the name to saileress or something like that.
Consider "seamare" to be a name of this profession. Also, I think seacolt or seastallion just sounds weird.
