I haven't posted shit here in a while- I drew this a few days ago for an art contest that I didn't win, if I can't draw anything, maybe a challenge can motivate me to be better? I lost eitherways ;-; but it feels nice to add some effort into your own work. Fluttercord, FTW!Related content

Honestly this is quite amazing.
The way you did the trees and the ambiance is just lovely.
Your use of colour is also really nice, though there is this one little spot of yellow in the leaves just a little in front of discords eyes that seems off.
The apparent blurriness in the foreground and just the general depth overal is really well done.
Overal my main critique would be that the characters and their items don't stand out from the background enough. Fluttershy's mane and red hood do, but her basket and her hooves for example do not.
For discord his hair/mane? is just.. seemingly not there in a weird way. And his talon together with the flower also blend in with the background.
Since I myself don't draw in this style I don't know any elegant solution to fix this problem, giving them slight white outlines probably would look weird.
And relying on completely colouring them differently also doesn't seem like a good solution. So I'm afraid I do not have a proposal to change this.
I also must say I really love the way the light falls into the forest, though the closer I look at it the more it seems like it is slightly bend....
And as a side note, I only just now noticed the eye in the foreground looking at them. I don't know how I missed that.

I just read something about a contest and how someone put a lot of effort into there work but didn't participate and a lot of people usually in courage them to do so because even if you lose you still oddly feel accomplished
