This is a graphic novel about a shapeshifting superhero! Chapter 1 is up, chapter 2 is just taking some time as I figure out a good system to posting regular comic pages.

That's right. Well, I did mean your own story and that is intriguing enough. but what is the general storyline as you see it beyond just the standard superhero premise? I guess, what would the "story bible" as they call it in television: the specifics, the drama, the issues, etc?

Huuuh... For this one I really want to focus on the idea of being a 'shadow of oneself'. I want there to be a dilemma between doing the right thing and the best thing, of fighting your own demons, and really push the shadow theme.
I think that's why I always loved Spiderman, being a hero isn't easy for him. It's a constant struggle, but he does it because it's right. I want to show that with Shift as well, so fingers crossed!

This is a really nifty artwork! I really like what you've done with the colors you chose. There's a very nice, almost watercolor-y thing going on with those blues and purples, which looks very gorgeous. I like the white outlines, too!

Haha, I had to open it up to check (and keep in mind that I would delete/merge some layers as they weren't needed) but the current count is about 16, for the text, the lines, shadows, colours, overlays and a couple filters. I like working on more layers because then I can reverse certain things.

I love layers too. My art has significantly improved with layers as well.

They work really well for certain styles that I'm aiming for, though I still want to keep practicing with one-layer paintings as well.
