Description
I'm finally getting the hang of painting digitally! This is a re-draw of an older drawing I did a few months ago. The progress is astonishing in comparison!ΒDone in Painttool Sai with a Wacom Intus5 tablet. Approx. 6 hoursΒ

A really good drawing! Love the composition and colour choice. As a traditional artist during life drawing I was always taught that when looking from your own eyes you never see these dark black 'outlines' of an object. How you've separated the hair from the background is wonderful, I'm just wondering could you not have done that with the face? Β Really good work Lexie! I've watched you.

Thank you! This was one of the first pieces I drew when I sort of made the switch from basing my work off lineart and being a hint more realistic. I'm still progressing more and learning as I digitally paint new things and already the dark outlines have begun to disappear. Before I made the switch into digital painting I sketched about 98% of the time and didn't do much else so it's always been my first instinct to have think dark outlines. This hasn't been something I've really considered until you brought it up. So now I will more consciously consider it as I paint. Thank you so much for the watch! I really appreciate it! <3
