This is the first time I've tried something like this, and I'm happy with how it turned out. Could have been better, I suppose, but for someone still experimenting with digital painting, I think it's pretty good. But I like to be overly critical about my own work.
This scene caught me by surprise. The whole turn RWBY made took me by surprise! But, from a story-telling point of view, I absolutely loved it. From a fan point of view, I also loved it, even though I might have cried a little.
After rewatching the series all together in preparation for volume 4, I saw this scene and thought of the quote on Summer's grave, taken from the poem "The Last Rose of Summer" written by Thomas Moore. I don't really think Pyrrha and Summer Rose are connected, but I liked how the imagery fit the quote and, well, this happened.
Submitted to Final-Boss-Emiko's RWBY contest. I don't know if this is my favorite scene or not, but this is a scene that definitely made the show more mature, which I love.
