History:
Clay was born to Briar, a wolf who grew up in the Amaryllis Tribe but never fit in with the others. She was a cunning and ambitious wolf who wanted to leave a legacy of strength in the Tribe. She never took a mate, choosing instead to mate with loners who had good traits for her offspring. She had several litters but was a harsh and demanding mother, pushing her pups to meet her impossibly high expectations. She lost many of her puppies to danger or disease, and the ones who survived left the Tribe as soon as they could. Clay was a surprise, as Briar was already old, and it was thought she couldn’t have any more pups. He was the only pup in his litter, and Briar saw him as her last chance to fulfill her dream.

Clay spent most of his childhood under his mother’s watchful eye, relatively isolated from the rest of the Tribe. She was determined to shape him into a wolf who would be a legacy to her and her forgettable family. She praised him when he did well but also scolded him harshly when he did poorly. She vented about her frustrations and disappointments and snapped at him when he disagreed. Depending on her mood, she views him as her pride and joy or her greatest disappointment.

As he has gotten older, his desire to be with the rest of the Tribe and pups his age became something she could no longer fight against. Less isolated by his mother, he became quite the social butterfly.

Clay is a ray of sunshine. He always has a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He loves to make new friends and share what he has, whether it's food, flowers, or fun. He has a particular soft spot for younger pups, often viewing them like the siblings he never had.
He is a wolf of great charm with a calm, comforting demeanor. He is optimistic and always tries to see the best in others. He dreams big and works hard, wanting to be the best in anything he does. He dreams of one day having a big family.

He is dissatisfied with his life, feeling he has no adventure or purpose besides achieving his mother's dreams, which were never his. He often struggles with self-esteem. He doubts his abilities and worth, feeling that he is not good enough for his tribe. Filled with naivety, he rushes into things, often getting into trouble or being fooled by others.
