Apollo was back in wynsiph, Namir knew it because of a letter he received earlier that month from them. They were going to meet up around noon to hang out and catch up. He was excited by the prospect and kept busying himself around the nook while he waited. He tried watching birds to pass the time, whistling bird songs he knew outside where the other wynglings couldn’t hear him. The birds only kept him busy for so long though. He considered hanging out with Honesty and Swarmy, but decided against it. He didn’t want to be exhausted when Apollo arrived. He walked towards the shop thinking he could get something for them, a little ‘welcome back’ gift. A treat or maybe a toy wand would be cool, he knew there was a new magicians hat in stock. It came in with a box of miscellaneous hats and hadn’t been bought last time he was there, perhaps that would be a good gift?

He was lost in thought as he pondered what to get them, when he almost missed the familiar blue tall eared wyngling. He stopped in his tracks when he spotted them. How odd, I thought he wouldn’t be here till noon? He thought he was about to call out to him when he noticed another wyngling, a red one with a bag over their head. Namir stepped into an alley and listened for a moment, it felt weird hiding from Apollo but he didn't want them to see him. He felt a pang of hurt when he heard them laughing and chatting together, and then anger. He met up with this other kid first?! Was he not really Apollo’s best friend, just a stand in for this other kid when they weren’t around?! He felt a burning sensation at the back of his throat, like he might cry. He couldn’t believe it, Apollo was spending his morning with someone else….and he wasn’t sure why that stung as much as it did. He knew Apollo wanted to meet him at noon, this shouldn’t be a big deal….but it felt like it was, why didn’t they want to see him first when they arrived? He turned and ran back to the nook hoping he wouldn’t cry and no one would notice he was there.
