- I managed to get the net off of me when I heard something squeaking. I spun around with my flashlight in confusion, looking for the source of the sound. The squeaking grew louder and more desperate, as if whatever was making it was in trouble. Realizing that it was very close to me, I got up and shined my flashlight towards the ground. It was coming from the broken net that I was caught in.

I followed down along the net until I gasped. In the light of my flashlight, a tiny bat was squirming around, trapped. I saw it's wings were twisted in the net, in knots. It tried to bite the ropes off with it's small sharp teeth. Noticing the light, the runtish bat stopped in his tracks and glance at me sharply, frightened.- Chapter 2 Befriended two bats, Twilight Night (revised)

This is my entry for the contest is having. I love her story, both the old and the new version of Twilight Night. In the contest we are asked to create a scene from the story. I chose the first meeting between Ashley and Shade. I love how they are both shocked and surprised to see each other because she's shocked at the sight of a poor bat in trouble and he's flat out terrified of her because she's a human. Really big and he's really caught at the moment and at her mercy. I just love how this kicks off their friendship later in the series.
